Just stayed in the Eastbourne seafront TL. Room 404 is a must - quirky shaped room but it is top of the hotel. You will be in the turret part with views over the sea and pier. If driving, park in the side streets as you have to pay on the front.[STRIKE]Fed up of being kippered by kids - new resolve - the NO word. Still at this[/STRIKE] Dam they struck again!!
Stay focused on the bigger plan - :rolleyes:0 -
The travel lodge in harrogate is the best i have stayed in. It is perfectly situated for all of harrogates offerings. The family room was clean and large, i think the builing was rather new. Just behind it there is a large family pub that does delish grub for next to nothing. You can walk to the baths(see their website as they often have offers), betty's tearooms and all the grand old bulidings. You are maybe 10 mins from the yorkshire show ground where all the events and antique fairs are held."I AM NOT SHOUTING"0

HI,
I love TL.
Have stayed at London's Kings Cross (nice)
" " Kings Cross Royal Scott (v. nice)
" " Farringdon (Ok)
I have also stayed at Markham Moore Lincolnshire (Ok), Durham (nice)
And Lincoln. (Really nice)
Whats not like? From £9 per room. Hot water, clean, comfy beds and great places to visit nearby.
Anyone got any thoughts or tips on Blackpools South prom Hotel?
Or does anyone know anywhere I may be able to park up for free?
many thanks

I second the Royal Scott as good - found the Kings cross a teeny bit noisy but good all the same - super location. I stayed in one in Mancs and it was massive - the one nearest the arena.0 -

Hope this helps someone0 -
Recent stay at Sheffield Meadowhall. Walking distance (thru stn car park) from Tram/Rail Stations and Shopping centre/Bus Station approx 5 mins.
Used to be a Purple Hotel which was an up market brand similar to T/L in style but better finished, and still in good shape.
Not suitable for city club/nightlife goers though as is a fair taxi ride from city and public transport is finished by midnoght.0 -
I have stayed in about 50 TLs and my favourites are EUSTON as you can get a bus or Tube to anywhere, and ALTON FOUR MARKS where your room overlooks countryside.0

We stayed at Glasgow once and paid £19. On arrival they didn't have a family room, which I had booked because although we are only a couple we like to have a sofa to sit on and also the family rooms are more spacious. I told the receptionist it didn't matter and I was happy with a double, whereupon he gave me two breakfast vouchers worth £15! So we paid only £4 for the room!0

At least you're not the only person who likes to have a sofa in their room! I was at a travelodge recently where they'd put me into a room without a sofa and when I complained they looked at me as if I had two heads or something!0 -

always make sure you add 2 kids to your booking info, that way you should be allocated a family room (with sofa) - then if they query the fact you have no kids with you when checking in, just say 'stroke of luck, found someone to have the kids'
if they have overbooked family rooms, they tend to look through the bookings, and move couples into double rooms0
