    Is it???

Someone did give me the wrong directions I think - it took me 15 minutes to walk there!!!! The only newsagents I could find was the one at Park Lane - are those other ones in the other direction??? And wheres the Tesco Metro - is it up towards the Empire? Apologies for the duff information - I genuinely had no idea!!! Last time I went to Sunderland before last October was something like four years ago before I moved to Leicester so I imagine everything's changed since then.
Didnt know about it being the knocking shop though - lol!!!! We were unfortunate enough to be at the Travelodge during fresher's week - at 3.30 when we checked in it was loud so god knows what it was like later on - it was quiet when we got back disgracefully late :D

York Central. Slightly older vintage than Leeds Colton so starting to show some wear and tear but I've had many a good stay here. Only thing to note is noise can be a problem, I would not like to stay here on a Friday or Saturday. Also rooms looking out to the courtyard have noise from the downstairs pub. But having Wetherspoons downstairs is a real plus.

Another bonus is I was able to pick up free WiFi from the Wetherspoons next door who also do a fabulous value for money breakfast

Just a reminder that travellodge also have three hotels in Spain ie BARCELONA & MADRID X2...I've stayed long weekends in both cities and with the metro links near by easy to get out and about..and excellent value for money...Straight forward run of the board travel lodge rooms but hey 20 euros a night divided by four what more do you need!
  • Looking to take a few days break away discovering Kent and Sussex and their coasts. I've browsed throught the 8 pages of postings on this topic and nobody seems to recommend or mention a coastal T/L in these counties. Is there not any good ones in the SE?

Only stayed at two -both very different.

    First one
Long Sutton - very cold room, bathroom 'heated' towel rail dismantled for 'safety reasons'. Only food available was from Little Chef (we walked into the village and had a decent roast dinner at local pub) It was March-weather was cold, as was room so despite booking two nights at £19 each we left after one.

    Secone one:beer:
Worthing -right on the sea front -sea view very helpful staff, dining room very reasonable priced, everything in working order including towel rail. Three nights at £35 -the offer for cheaper rooms didn't cover this one but it was well worth it..........if we'd stayed at b & b it would have cost a lot more.
Downside was car parking -staff managed to find us a space out the back but other than that we'd have been a bit stuck.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Info on Harrogate would be helpful please.

I stayed at Harrogate Travelodge in March. Rooms are pretty big size for two people, everything clean and nice staff (well what little we saw of them anyway). Wetherspoons is a five minute walk down the hill for cheap breakfast and it's a five to ten minute walk to the shops. In terms of stuff to do there are various mainstream and not so mainstream shops, the lovely Bettys Cafe (expensive but the cake is awesome) and the Stray, which is a park in the centre of town.

The only bad things were that they were a bit shoddy on topping up the tea, the packets of milk were slightly out of date (although that said I drank it and I'm still here but some people are funny about those things) and despite being on a back street it faces directly onto a branch of Monty's Rock Cafe so was a bit loud on the Friday/Saturday night we were there. If you're not a light sleeper though you should probably be all right.

  • The Travelodge sale starts 3rd Sept. Rooms are £12 this time!
  • I have to agree with the person who responded to your post. You wouldn't let my child run around your bedroom at home covered in dirt and all sorts from outside but you are happy for your dog (which doesn't know how to wash, use toilet paper etc) stay in a room (even a bed) I might use tomorrow....

Disgusting - I never stay in hotels that allow pets, it just isn't right

he he trust me the dog is cleaner than the kids lol
dont know how they manage it but somehow the kids make more mess than the dog

on the subject of dogs . . . . what does anyone whos been to the york travelodge think? is it near a busy road? anywhere for some nice walks with my dog?
havnt been to york for ages so cant think if it would be suitable with my dog,

    thanks :)

We have just booked the TL Bath Waterside for a couple of nights in October, so hope it's as nice as it looks.
Have stayed in a few TL's, and they are what they are. Ideal for a overnight stay, but I would not want to spend a week in one.
Having said that, we stayed in a 4 star (supposedly) luxury boutique hotel in London a couple of years back and cost us over £500 for 3 nights :eek: On checking out, I told them it was an expensive travelodge at best.

We have stayed at Ashford (Eureka Park) a few times, which is convenient for the eurostar and eurotunnel. Can't fault it. Also stayed in Canterbury and again, can't fault it, especially when we paid £19 for 4 of us.

hey everyone, i was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at the aberdeen bucksburn travelodge? i'm planning to take my wee one up there during the midterm holiday and had given up all hope of finding any reasonable price room in aberdeen (even the YHA is 16 quid/night and they'd make me pay for a 4 bed room because of her) and then i found the cheap room finder, yay!

the airport TL is actually a tidge cheaper but i asked them about buses and they said i'd have to get a taxi from the train station which would cost a fortune but the bucksburn location has a bus stop right across the road.... anyway i was just wondering, i saw someone stayed in the central location and liked it but they don't have any cheap rooms for when we're going
