Great 'Best Travelodge Holidays' Hunt: Which travelodge's offer the perfect get away?

I tried to find a £12/£19 room at Covent Garden, London/Worthing/Brighton Travelodge this morning at 12.30am, 4.00am, 5.30am and again at 6.00am but to no avail. I assumed that perhaps they just didn't have any and have now seen on this forum that others have booked for Covent Garden. During the early hours of this morning I was able to find daily rates on a weekly basis but I now can't find how to do this. Could anyone please direct a semi-computer literate person as to how I go about actually locating where the £12/£19 are? Thank you to anyone who has the time to reply.
then look about half way down the page to the words 'room search' IN BLUE. That is a hyperlink and will take you to where you need to be.

I guess it's a matter of weighing up things like parking at the TL- as we'd want to leave the car & take public transport in for the day.
would be tempted to head for wimbledon morden then, or maybe a bit further round the south M25 - can go as far round as heathrow, feltham if you dont mind the drive - as most TL on that side of london have stations that are within the outer underground travelcard zones - dont think id bother going through the tunnel to stay at a north london TL

Confuzzled wrote: »hey everyone, i was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at the aberdeen bucksburn travelodge? i'm planning to take my wee one up there during the midterm holiday and had given up all hope of finding any reasonable price room in aberdeen (even the YHA is 16 quid/night and they'd make me pay for a 4 bed room because of her) and then i found the cheap room finder, yay!
the airport TL is actually a tidge cheaper but i asked them about buses and they said i'd have to get a taxi from the train station which would cost a fortune but the bucksburn location has a bus stop right across the road.... anyway i was just wondering, i saw someone stayed in the central location and liked it but they don't have any cheap rooms for when we're going
I have booked colleagues into the Aberdeen Bucksburn Travelodge and they say it is in the middle of an industrial estate which is all shut up in the evening.0 -
I can recommend Caerphilly - good for visiting Cardiff. Also Pencoed Bridgend is in a good area.0

i think ashord or canterbury are nearest, but get booked up fairly quickly, due to ports/eurostar - i prefer to stay at margate, as its a newer lodge, and tends to have more rooms at the cheap rate
i find staying a bit further out works best, but as you are going on a cruise, are you getting to dover by car? as none in that area, are really suitable for people using public transport

hi flea
thanks for replying....other half was saying ashford might be better due to the motorway we were coming down on from s. wales....but if you think margate would be better.......oh yes we are travelling by car , have u stayed in the ashford ones or the margate ones....which one would you recommend as we would be looking for a meal or some sort having been on the road 5 hours by then....how do i go about finding the cheap rooms flea as we are looking for just 1 night on 20 dec 09

funnily enough, ive just done a search, and every TL in that area is coming up as £29 for the night, so you can take your pick. however, it actually seems the margate travelodge is nearest to Dover, but prob, slightly further than ashford to drive to from Wales (only a few miles in it, i reckon)
so based on that i would choose margate, just because i prefer the lodge, but for ease of evening meal would prob go with Ashford, as it has an onsite cafe/bar, so you dont need to leave the lodge to eat. But theres a harvester only about 2mins up the road from margate, so it depends on which you prefer lol - shorter drive in the morning (no food on site), or slightly longer drive, but no need to leave hotel for food

hi
Have never stayed in travelodge before and am doing a xmas cruise out of Dover and need a room for the night....can anyone recommend a particular one to stay in near the port please...or maybe which ones to avoid?
Also is there anyway of getting them cheaper as you all seem to be getting good bargain prices
Thanks so much

The Margate TL is about 10 mins outside Margit on a shopping complex style thing called Westwood X. As flea said, there's a harvester on the doorstep, but there is also a Mexican, Franky & Benny's, etc etc etc on the estate. A 5 in walk through to the other side takes you to a McD's. Should you want to stock up on snacks for the cruise there's a Sainsbugs "next door" and a Mr T's over the road from that.
DO check though, on the route from Westwood to Dover, that the roadworks dualling the road outside Pfizers will be finished if you're travelling at the weekend. It will already be a half hour drive- these roadworks are a t*t and could add 20 mins easily.
Staying at Ashford, you'd whip down the M20 to Folkestone, where the A20 would see you into the right side of Dover for the Cruise terminal.
It may be worth your while looking at a hotel in Whitfield- where you come off the motorway essentially, and only minutes from the terminal. You'll pay a little more but it would be very convenient. I'd help with some names but I've just gone completely blank and am heading out of the country tomorrow
Have a fab cruise!Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -
London Marylebone is quiet ( as is the station ) ideally placed ( 100 yds from station, a quiet 10 min walk to Regent's Park, a 10 min bustle walk to Tussaud's ) and being on the Bakerloo Line it has direct stops to Westminster ( London Eye ) Charring Cross ( Trafalgar Sq ) Embankment ( Tate Modern ) Piccadilly Circus and Wembley0
