It's not open until May, but I know the location and building that the new Travelodge at Scarborough will be in. It's in a historic old building with sea views, 2 minutes from the town centre, 2 minutes from the beach and 2 minutes from the main bar area. However, it's located in a square just off the main road so it shouldn't suffer from noise. It's also about 10 minutes walk from the train staion so handy for those not wanting to drive.0

I needed a room for a wedding up north for just one night six weeks later - although big notices were given for rooms at £19 and £29 there were none available - £51 was the lowest. How long a time do you have to give to get one of the bargain rooms - and how many are there in each hotel?????
you can book rooms 12 months in advance, so thats the only way to guarantee a cheaper room. other than that, they hold sales throughout the year, but you have to be up early to get the bargains. To get a £19 room you have to book at least 21 days in advance, to get a £29 room you have to book at least 7 days in advance, with less than 7 days, you will always pay full rate. But yes, there is a limit on how many rooms are available at each rate
However, i would have though booking 6wks in advance you should get a room for less than £51, maybe not the nearest one to the wedding venue, but you can usually get one within a 15-20min drive for a bargain price
whereabouts was it you wanted to stay?

I have had to stay at alot of Travelodges with work over the years and if I have a choice i NEVER use them!! Its worth paying a bit more for a clean room, good bed and a bath, cheap is not always GOOD VALUE....0

Just got back from a 2 night stay in Travelodge York Tadcaster.
Rooms have been refurbished with posh wall mounted TVs and new furniture. Plenty free parking and if you are after a day in York then it is only about a 10 minute drive to MacArthur Glen Outlet Village where you can park for free for the day and catch a bus for only £2.30 straight into York. Much cheaper than paying to park in York itself.
Outlet itself is well worh a visit and is undercover so the weather doesn't matter.
I have also been to Travelodges in Berwick Upon Tweed, Carlisle Southwaite, Carlisle Todhills, Dumfries and Sheffield. The only one I would never go back to is Sheffield, it was filthy.0 -

I'll try and be a bit more helpful to Susumu's OP as the above answer mostly repeats what is already available on the T/L website:-
When T/L have a sale those that have registered with T/L to receive email news get first notice of when it will start, usually about 5/6 days beforehand.
Some sales are aimed at stimulating demand at an early stage during quiet periods, whilst others are to sell left over rooms.
To get the best choice of rooms you need to be logging on at the first available time which is generally 0600 on day one, although it has been known for some rooms to be up for grabs late on in the evening before the sale starts.
Now, most town/city T/Ls are already fully booked on Friday/Saturday nights, so if that is what your looking for the likelyhood of finding a sale priced room is low.
What you can do however, is book the lowest price refundable (non saver) room that you would be prepared to pay for, and then keep checking back to see if a cheaper room becomes available - if one does, book it, then simply cancel your refundable room. If nothing cheaper comes up, at least you know you have the best price available for the date you require.
I would guess that a £51 room would be a refundable one in most locations, but unless you quote date and place, I cannot be sure.
Hope that helps.0 -
I have stayed twice at the Travelodge Rugby Dunchurch - always clean, staff friendly - which is great for a Midlands stopover. My other half recently stayed in the London Southwark one, which we got for £45 including breakfast - BARGAIN! It was very clean and modern, really close to Waterloo.
Hope this helps xxx0 -
First time doing this hope I am doing it right! I love T/L, I like the fact that you know what you are getting. However my last two experiences have not been great -
1) Edinburgh West end, got that 'room from hell' right by the staff reception door, which was banged all night so no sleep!
2) Edinburgh Learmonth, new so had high expectations, was ear marked for the 'room from hell' thankfully it was not ready when they checked. However, allocated another room which was dirty, never been vacuumed, hairs in the bath and sink and I was not convinced the duvet was clean! Not enough pillows or towels for 2. Should have known by the overflowing bins by the front door and huge pile of cigarette ends, neither of which were dealt with during our stay. I think I will be a bit dubious in future.0 -

I have never really had a problem with the room from hell as you put it. I learnt fairly quickly to, when checking in, simply ask for a room well away from the entrance and lift/stairs - of course if you are really late checking in or have more than 2 in your party the options become less.
As to the shortage of towels etc., the room cleaning staff work from a preprinted list which has the number of guests allocated to each room, and that is the number the room is made up for. When guests such as myself get rooms swapped, often that messes up the numbers that end up using my original room and vice versa. Simply ask reception for the extra bits you need, and you will get them.0 -
