We stay at Perth travelodge every christmas so we can got christmas shopping. Its right next to the park and ride so car gets dumped for the weekend and we bus into Perth town centre--its only £1 each too.
Next door is a Harvester pub which always has lovely food and there is a Mcds too ( if you like them)TRYING hard to be a good money saver :rolleyes:0 -
What an under-advertised city! The travelodge is new and clean, in a good location. Carlisle is at the end of England's most scenic rail journey, the Settle-Carlisle. It's got lots of lovely places to eat, a great independent coffee shop which also does nice breakfasts/home made cakes etc and roasts and grinds its own coffee, a cathedral, independent bookshop, great castle, free museum which is genuinely interesting for all the family. Also fantastic Christmas lights and Christmas market etc if you go at the right time.
We went for a weekend, got 2 £9 rooms, one for us and one for the kids, dug out the old baby monitor, and we all had a great time.
lovely lovely lovely. Can't fault it.:T0 -
Oh yes - and we had a great romantic weekend at Billingshurst a couple of years ago (without the kids...), where we bought an ordnance survey map and spent the days walking round the countryside. Nice restaurants within a couple of miles, nice quiet room, little chef on site for breakfast, which we enjoyed, and we are reasonably picky.0

T5 travel lodge. got a cheap deal (think it was £19 for a twin room). rooms good and clean as it's a fairly new building.perfect for getting early flights as the shuttle bus picks you up the front door. I had the bus to myself on early January morning - my own personal very large taxi to the airport! Perfect.
Do you know if they have free overnight parking or if they charge ?ELITE 5:2

super lodge right on Union street. Free secure parking below it. Really great if you get the cheap deal.0

Ayr has a very new lodge and is well located with free parking. Very helpful staff.0

Why would anyone think it was OK to take a pet into a hotel room - other people especially who may have allergies do not need pet hair in their hotel room. It is unsanitary. Put them in kennels or do not bring them but for an animal to sleep in a hotel room is pretty distasteful.
I think the more they charge the better to reduce this happening
I agree with Nikita on this one ! I do like animals but I certainly don't want one sleeping in my bedroom (and possibly on my bed!) I wouldn't let my own dog do that let alone somebody else' dog. You aren't allowed to smoke in hotel rooms - and thats more acceptable than animals (and no, I don't smoke). I wasn't aware that Travelodge accepted animals and I'm afraid thats enough to put me off even at £9 a time.ELITE 5:2

Aberdeen City centre lodge is right on Union st the main shopping thoroughfare. Dump the car in their free underground car park and you are off. We stayed near to Christmas and paid under £60 for three nights super value. You cannot get close to this on price anywhere else so close to the city centre!!0

Tried the Battersea Travelodge during recent cheap rooms deal. Great for bus travel around London and inexpensive cafe nearby ideal for a great kickstart-the-day breakfast but the standard of our room very poor. Large crack in wash basin, stained curtains and shower curtain and badly damaged wall in bedroom. Letter of complaint written to head office four weeks ago but no reply to date.0

We had a cheap family get together using Oxford Pear Tree T/L a couple of years ago - Park and Ride into town centre is a little way up the road, and very cheap bus fare compared with city parking.
Oxford is a beautiful city with many free things, eg
University Parks (river, ducks, laugh at the punters) ; Christ Church Meadow
Natural History Museum - a mini version of the big crowded one at South Kensington
Visit the colleges and decide which one you fancy going to a garden party at DELETE I mean want your children to go to.
(most are free, not Christ Church where they filmed Harry Potter though)
Browsing Boswell's amazing department store - if htey haven't got it, it probably doesn't exist
May Morning - on-street entertainment from 6am (if you can get anywhere near!)0
