Hotel was clean and bright. Entrance at back was bit strange, but plenty of free parking. Had family room, was adequate , bathroom was fine, clean and bright. not much hanging space for family of 4 and no other storage in the room. Tv was fine with about 5 channels. Tea and coffee sachets and small kettle, can ask for more at reception if needed, but we bought fresh milk at tescos just across road and kept it cold on the windowsill.
Double bed, larger than average and was comfy. Kids bed was sofa bed- full size so would easily sleep an adult, my 13 year old son is taller than me.. Sofa bed had a pull out mattress underneath for second child. bedding for kids was provided in a big plastic bag, so had to put covers on yourself and no extra pillows, so had to ask for them at reception. Only thing i didnt like was the bedding, the quilt covers have no buttons or press studs, so quilt can slip out.
Location is great, didnt touch car for 2 days, easy walk into Stratford, on main road, so felt safe walking back after cineam and meal out.
There is a small retail park across with Next, Argos, Matalan, etc and Pizza hut and Burger King being built.
Breakfast is good value if you have kids, £7.50 and 2 kids under 15 years eat free.
All in all it was an excellent stay for short break in half term, paying only £9 per night for family room.
I have also stayed at Frankley Services and York Central - both fine with no problems. Going to Stafford one at Easter for visit to Alton Towers.0 -
Good - Amesbury (clean, decent hotel and very close to Stone Henge), Euston (great location, newly converted and very modern), Holyhead (very smart rooms and a good base to explore Anglesey), Brigton seafront (excellent location, decent rooms - some still to be refurbished though - and some sea views, across the roof of the cinema), Manchester airport (nothing special but right by the terminal) AVOID - Winceshester A34N (stinks!), Kings Cross (pretty facade but backs on to a VERY noisy railway!)“Official Company Representative

Stayed there April last year. The room was OK, but the real attraction is its location specially for families with kids.
The lodge is new with its own parking. It is right along the creek so u hear and see the seaguls flying around. There is a dominoes pizza right next door, and and a bid Asda at walking distance. At 2-3 min drive theres a huge shopping centre with Everything from Tesco, McDonalds, to Comets / Currys.
There is a small lovely Island called Walney you can drive to, its a 5-10 min drive. Plus u can drive to Lake windernere in 40 min.

My wife and I managed to grab a room at the City Road, London Central Travelodge for £9 on a Saturday night! We made a weekend of it, including train tickets from Norwich for £6 each way (£3.95 each way for her as she is a student railcard holder). We went to the British Museum (free), looked in the shops on Oxford St (free - except for the Starbucks!) and went to a show (most expensive part of the weekend, for £20 each). Total cost: £69 for the two of us!

My vote too for the Edinburgh one - so central and bonus was it was opposite a fab Veggie restaurant David Banns for dinner each night!
Very friendly staff there too.
London wise have stayed in Covent garden (the HIgh Holborn one) several times great rooms as in clean, spacious and if 13th floor fab views, great location too. Got Euston booked next month in the sale so looking fowrard to that one with the location being so useful.
Have stayed 3 times at Marylebone - in need of some work now but good location and comfy room (but you sometimes need to ask for another room to get a good one there) Farrington and the Kings cross one - ok but bit dated now, not my faves but if £9/£19 a night its fine. City Road is a modern one too.
Other ones Ive stayed in are Worcester which was fine, Bristol opposite a building site but ok, Cardiff - ok and Liverpool again ok.
Im trying the Brighton seafront one in August for a few nights:D
I never book the breakfasts in the Travelodges as cant see them ever catering for vegans!
The location for the one in Cardiff is spot on, slap bang in the city centre however i felt the rooms were a bit "tired"0 -
Why would anyone think it was OK to take a pet into a hotel room - other people especially who may have allergies do not need pet hair in their hotel room. It is unsanitary. Put them in kennels or do not bring them but for an animal to sleep in a hotel room is pretty distasteful.
I think the more they charge the better to reduce this happening
I dont mean to appear rude, but there are ways of expressing ur opinion without being so rude and blunt. To a lot of people including myself the pet is part of the family,
it would be like saying dont take children on a holiday as they have snotty noses,
if you were that concerned you would ask for a pet free room, as a lot of accomodation that allows pet including Haven, etc they allocate a small section to pets whilst the rest is pet free accomodation.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
This Travelodge is in a lovely old ex Carpet mill. Its only a 10 minute walk from the centre of town.0

I just wrote loads for this and the whole lot has disappeared!
Edinburgh Central, Newcastle Central, Nottingham Central, all good & well placed, just check your room BEFORE unpacking and report any problems to Reception immediately, or for serious issues, ask to be moved to another room.0 -
I have been on a few travelodge holidays when on special offer and we've usually been on a low budget, buying croissants/muffins/fruit salad at the supermarket to have for breakfast in the room and taking along cup-a-soup etc for an easy snack, then wine, cheese, olives or something for a the evening while watching tv if staying in.
The best perhaps was Inverness, when I was lucky to get 5 nights for £10 a night a few years ago. Although nothing special, the room was fine and the staff were friendly.
The hotel is the usual box on the edge of the main road and retail park, but a mile (ish) and a regular bus ride away is the lovely town of Inverness with fabulous pubs and leaky's the best 2nd hand bookshop & cafe in an old church. The retail park had a cinema, a Borders bookshop with cafe and a Tesco for the croissants for breakfast etc.
THE best thing however was the fantastic scenery on the doorstep, being within a short distance of Loch Ness and Urquart Castle, then the Moray firth and the Black Isle with lovely Cromarty and Chanonery Point (the best place for dolphin watching in Europe!). Great for bird watching also.
Sorry for the long post .. just too much info to impart!0 -
We stayed in a big family room at a new Travelodge in Blackpool last year. It was very good. Quiet location opposite the football ground and a short walk from the seafront, between the central and south piers. It had a nice bar although the beer wasn't cheap. The lodge was a few months old at the time, so how long it will stay in this condition, who knows. It cost £5 per night to leave the car in their private car park.0
