I am currently with Virgin for everything; but their BB is v expensive. Although I am only on the basic deal I still get speeds of up to 7 or 8 and no download restrictions. Would I notice a big difference if I went for this SKy deal?

    thanks

Actually no, Sky 1 is also available on Virgin Media so no problems with the holy grail that is Lost :T

What I mean is you would still have to pay someone to see it as it is not on a free channel

Cant get broadband with sky and have to pay extra £17.00 month with sky as we are too far away from the exchange apparantly. We currently have broadband with pipex, so how does this work that sky can't give it to us?
If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A
  • How much does it work out for this deal if you take Sky Sports too?

It really depends on your 'old' telephone line. (assuming you still have one!?)
This will determine the 'maximum' speed achievable on that line...it could only be 1/2 meg!
And if you can get 'up to 10mb' with your cable provider, and you need this sort of speed, that service is the best you can get.
We have several PCs running all kinds of stuff ALL the time...
So there's no way we could go to 2mb (suggested) - if we paid to have the line put back.

Have you got the package deal discount from your cable supplier???
We get around £25 pcm discount for using all 3 services...give them a call, if you don't!

FWIW - we actually got a call from 'them' today!
They asked why we left, so 'he' told them... and then offered us 6 months half-price (any package) and NO tie-in for that period.
Asked for a new 'box' and they said no...
So we'll keep saving the £22 then.
I try to help... ;)I'm not helping much, am I? (<==where's he gone?)

    I'd wait for a proper reply... I know I should! :D

    Cheers!

    What's this about?

    >>>SNIP<<<
    What is Sky+

It's a hard-drive recorder which means you can live pause and rewind live programmes, and record things without tape. It's been called Sky's "killer application" and is rated by the Which? as the top box of its type.

    >>>SNIP<<<<

Yet again, us here in Kingston Upon Hull miss out on any potential deals as Kingston Communications has a monopoly stranglehold on our telephone system that no-one seems to want to break.

Sorry to be pedantic but quite a few Which© members [myself included] pointed out that as this was the ONLY box available for this service, there was nothing to compare it to. It did score the highest in the tests that could be compared.

    regards
