i have just encountered "enraged fruit stall holder" :rotfl: she was having a rather aggresive hissy fit at me through my van window !!
she reckons the council have complained that they leave thier "rubbish" untidy.....and that its ME that is doing it?? i sat there and just calmly [good for me:D] told her i had the councils permission and who she should speak to,and that i did not make a mess. she would not have any of it...i DID NOT have permission, i DID leave a mess and i was NOT to take anything!!
i just sat in my van..... she then got 3? people to take my number plate number??? i offered my name and address but NO ??:rotfl:
she was bad mouthing me to all and sundry.... i just sat there:rotfl:
they drove off...i got out and started to collect mabels fruit and one young lad [who worked for her] popped up from nowhere and said ...you mustnt take it....i burst out laughing and kindly told him he had to learn not to do someone elses dirty work !!;)
after that the shopkeepers all came out of thier shops laughing thier heads off saying what a prat of herself she'd made !!:rotfl::rotfl:

honestly do some people have nothing better to do...THEY ARE DUMPING IT !!!!

i learnt from the refuse collection men [who appear as im looking for fruit] that it is the stallholders that have been told off for NOT seperating the waste from the cardboard etc....they just dump it all mixed in a heap and the workers have to rummage to try and seperate it !! [2 collections..."paper" and food waste]

anyway im sorry if iv bored you but i cant help smiling as i love a victory...:T

Yes - tried using luke warm water & cotton wool - on the membrane. That's what's stuck but it's still twitching but don't think it'll survive.

OH is a train buff & would be there all enthusing given half a chance. I do miss having access to things like car boot sales - skips - even! Used to love to go skip diving of an evening!

Have a nice meal - sure it'll be fine.
Just done the rounds enjoying the relatively quiet.
i try an get the water [warm] between the chick and the membrane as the outside of the membrane is pretty waterproof??

For some reason the membrane is stuck to the chick's down & allthough got most of it off - ( along with some down :-(
It is actually up on its feet & we've moved it into the brooder - can only give it a shot. Poor wee thing.

It happens sometimes. I'd keep dampening it and peeling after a few mins (it will dry quickly under hen or lamp). Once they are up and about they stand a better chance.

It was over its eye, head & wing.

It's off now but it looks jiggered. I'll see how it is in the morning.

OH says. 'We'll give the egg cooker a rest for a bit, eh?'

I'm not. We're chasing our tails.

I thought the same thing when I was looking at rhiwfield's piccies! :rotfl:

We did a village event today and took just shy of 3 figures, so that was a useful cash boost. However, we'll probably spend it all tomorrow when we go to the NCCPG Plant Fair at Rosemoor! :)

Mentioned that I'd been to a car boot and picked up a box of dirty pottery and glassware. Cost me a tenner so it was a bit of a gamble. Now its not greenfingered but do you reckon any of this is has value and can you add to the knowledge?

6 reims glasses (1950s?) Marked Reims, Made in France, with individual numbers on glasses.

6 sundae dishes (1950s?) No makers marks

Gold lustre coffee set in porcelain made by Moritz Zdekauer (dirty but generally in pretty good nick, but some minor wear to gold, looks genuine and is fine porcelain, makers marks on nearly every piece, think it could be modern 1980s but may be a bit earlier)

Souvenir tea set (pot, water pot, sugar bowl and milk bowl) All with a scene titled "welsh costumes" except sugar bowl with words "a welsh woman in native costume". Looks victorian but could be modern and cheap instead of old and cheap!! No makers marks. Looks very similar to pieces such as "pontypridd bridges" in "gathering the jewels"

hi, can u take pics of markings/stamps etc....i can perhaps help then !! from what i can see from pics the welsh t set is more modern as the colors are not quite right for victorian but i could be wrong... the glasses look 60s/70s to me but either way you did well for your £10...... the gold set is difficult cos so many were made ,even up to now but marks tell me when/what...

    Alfie,

Moritz Zdekauer mark Link also to MZ website, which mark do you think it corresponds to - we're inclined to go with 1922-45? 2 pieces also have numbers/date "1985" impressed, replacements?

    Reims glass marks

No other marks to photo :(

    Cheers
