The pigtail comment made me laugh. I mean one pigtail? Doesn't that make it a ponytail? I thought pigtails always came in twos?
Otherwise, I do braless all the time in the house - I'd never venture out without though! I remember once I got quite badly sunburned and had to take 4 days off work because I couldn't wear a bra!
Watching the news atm and this quake/tsunami is devastating isn't it? What a terrible reminder to spur you into striving to achieve your dream! And still I sat in front of the tv and pc and did nothing in the garden!!! What is it going to take to get me motivated? The weekly rise in petrol prices isn't doing it! The rising cost of food isn't doing it either! Choille? You know that box you found with "Rocket" on the side? Was there any left inside? If so send one down here and aim it up my backside!!!

Poo, I lost a wire in the bra I was wearing yesterday and it punctured me, so I thought I should take a break today....its so sore (how embarrassing). I'm rather well endowed, so its hard to miss them ''flying free''. Dh is actually home early because of the tsunami/earthquake. He was meant to be there this week, then ddn't go and now, obviously isn't working on the Japanese thing he was working on because they are all otherwise occupied.0

What spurs me on is getting the skills before I really need them! I can see the rising food costs and I am likely to experience a decrease in income and it means so much to me that my family are happy and healthy and I strongly believe growing our own produce will contribute to that greatly. At the moment we are increasing things steadily and gathering info and advice along the way. None of our friends or family are interested in gardening and this thread is an invaluable source of support and advice.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

WOW! LIR he's had a lucky escape!
I love underwired bras but not when they go rogue! Why are they either really sharpe ends that wreck your booby or the ones with the bright red tip that stick through your blouse at work for hours without you noticing?
It's hard being a woman!!!

Dont know whether to laugh or cry.
Braless Valkyries vs images of tsunamis (and radioative leaks?)
And Lotus Eater, dont go ill on us, I've got you sussed as a man of the soil, unperturbed by ailments of the body. Anyhow, feel better soon
Funny kind of day but you do what you always do, soldier on. So spent morning building the log store and loaded it (with help) with another truck load of green logs. Then had Dwr Cymru doing dye tests on drainage to make sure that house had no surface water runoff to drains..passed so thats ok.
Sort of knackered now, time to sign off.0 -

Yes, it was a pretty active day on this thread, though I was absent for most of it...:o
Nice to hear from Poo and sorry Lotus has been having it rough - I thought you'd been a bit quiet on the seed-sowing front. Still, not too late by any means; I planted a second or third lot of Gardener's Delight the other day, and more sweet peppers.
Like choille, I thought "Bonfire" again this morning, but half way through, the wind direction changed and I had to hold back a bit, instead of burning all the leylandii, which creates a heck of a stink.
Then, Pete the farmer arrived to roll the fields, so I let the fire go down while I devised a way to get him over the exposed water pipe without wrecking it. The previous owners didn't really bury it properly and the sheep trekking over it in the gateway all winter had brought it right to the surface. The hens didn't take too kindly to the tractor, so I found them some compensatory treats. It didn't work though, because they only laid 3 eggs, the lowest number for many weeks.
In the late afternoon we collected our 3 new Welsummers from a chap who produces a few traditional breeds on a smallholding about eight miles away. He turned out to be another retiree from the rat race, living here because his home town in South Devon is now too full of tourists and trendies. He thought we'd chosen wisely, coming here. I didn't tell him 'here' was a complete accident!!
So, Peckadilly Circus is now occupied. Being Welsummers, they went inside at dusk with hardly a murmur, while down in the main run, the Vorwerks were, as usual, chivvying the Dorkings inside, but still popping out themselves to have a last quick peck at the feed! :rotfl:
Tried to watch 'A Farmer's Life' this evening, but our sat-recorder thing had fouled up, as it sometimes does with series, so we had to download from iPlayer. I won't tell you how long that takes on our connection....but it's just finished!

Another bonfire already started here, and some ranuculus in pots to sink outside when the frosts are safely behind us. Never tried these, don't tend to go for things that require fuss...and bringing back in to store over winter out of soil is fuss.
More and more convinced I want a digger in to our decorative garden in the future to lower it (its quite wide but doesn't feel long enough and I think dropping it even a foot would give a sense of somewhere to go).
Crowbar proudly displayed the chicks she's hatched this morning while we cleaned the chook house and we were allowed to watch them eat and drink. I'd like to cear out her nest: I find it hard to be patient over that sort of thing.
In now for a quick coffee and scrambled egg and then back out while its dry.....oving MORE logs. Its getting verytiresoe now, 9 months of this!0 -
It is snowing here  I am so unimpressed!
Now I have to figure out what to do with my fruit bushes in the short term. I am chewing over planting them in Morrison buckets and putting them outside and then I can plant them properly when the snow has gone.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
ohhh can I join you please, atm we rent our home and it comes with a small 3/4 acre plot attached so we are using this to start us off and get as SS as possible. We currently have chooks on it and one veg plot 2 green houses and a poly tunnel. We are saving for leccy fence as we are also putting 3 piglets on there to eventually slaughter but thats a project in savings atmDebt Free...yay! 10/09/2013 :j
