    I've been Money Tipped!
Here's my woodshed. Made from recycled materials, apart from the roof.

OMG. And I want LE's DIY ability.
Everyone's logs are so neat! we've stacked SOME of ours, but by no means all!

edit: that's weird, a post is missing....where I said I wanted Rhiwfield's or Davesnave'ssense of order and pleasing layout for the wretched veg garden.

It's not that good :D Attached to it, is a playhouse for the kids made from old sheds the neighbours were chucking away and the other side (rhiwfield) are my stacks of drying wood, I dry it on pallets a bit like rhiwfields photo, but I have corregated metal sheets weighed down on top, I find this allows maximum air to get in and minimum rain, in fact no rain as they overhang each edge. This is better than plastic over the top, which I started with many years ago.

edit, I also find it important to allow air gaps in each palleted stack. I pack the wood in 4 lots across the pallet, each one having an air gap before the next starts. Well tbh, that's how it starts out at the bottom, but by the time you get to the top :D
In all seriousness, this works really well and a well sorted stack can easily be dried in a year to very good moisture levels, much better than the stuff you buy.

I think I can get about 3 and half cubic metres of wood in it.
LOL, the second my neighbour saw my woodshed, he said, do you regret not building it bigger :D
I could have done, but I wanted it set well back from the front so you don't get rain driving in, I can also utilise the underneath bit for dried and split wood if I wish, atm it's sort of a storage area for wood yet to be cut up and organised. I have another huge pile on pallets on the lawn. Trouble is, I haven't even got the strength to carry in a bucket full of firewood atm, let alone anything else. :rotfl:

Rummer/choille, weather looks a bit grim up there!

    Cyclura, welcome!

Lir, I'm all logged out. Heath Robinson would be proud of this scrapheap shambles, the only consolations are that it does the job and it didnt cost a penny to make (except for the temporary tarp). Got the material for the roof as well but thats a next week job. Green wood is 50% cheaper than seasoned round here, so it makes sense to make time work for us for nowt and our main store only takes 2 cu metres.

We'll have to wait and see whether it will dry enough for burning for next winter.
i love your wood store! just shoved pic under nose of BF and left massive hints !!
