It's been hailing but hasn't layed just on the tops - really grey & the wind would cut you in two. Gone back into Winter mode - three layers on & conked next to the stove beside the fat cats.

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted and it's taken me about a week (off and on) to catch up with where everyone's at.

Choille, glad you are ok and back posting. I was starting to get worried when you was MIA! Sorry to hear about your chooky. I hope the weather turns better for you soon.

Rummer, I love you! You always seem to ask the questions that I realise I need to know the answers to without realising what the question was. You've been so busy I really hope all of your produce is successful. It's no less than you deserve! Thanks to you and everyone who has answered your questions, for the help and advice.

UKMaggie, glad your house is coming on well. Fab utility room! I bet you can't wait to get moved in there.

Stitchingwitch, glad to see you posting again and with the extra work - grab it while you can! Hope you can get back to your allotment soon.

LIR, you are so busy!!! I don't know how you pack so much into your days! I just wish I had half the get up and go that you have (and that goes to Alfie, Davesnave, Rummer, Choille and CTC too).

Alfie, you never cease to make me laugh with all your new arrivals! Alfie Towers must be packed to the rafters with all manor of waifs and strays! Fantastic buy at your local auction and a lovely picture it is too!

Davesnave, I love your daily anecdotes, very entertaining and informative. Peckadilly Circus looks very hospitable, where do they go afterwards? Peckingham Palace? Keep digging the fence post holes!

CTC, sorry to hear of your home situation with the new build retail park. I didn't see the view from your bedroom but I can imagine given the comments following your post. I know it's no compensation but my local supermarket has houses built right on it's boundary with views straight over the carpark, but I believe all those houses have been sold so please don't think your house is unsellable. It's a bit different in this case as the houses were built after the supermarket but just trying to say (maybe not very well) that it's not the end of the world and once the development is over and things settle down, your house being where it is and the supermarket will just be seen as the norm. Please don't think I am minimising your obvious distress at the predicament you're in at the moment, just trying to (I don't know?) ease you through it? Shine a little light?

I'll stop now because sometimes I can dig holes and have no clue if they're getting bigger or not!

Anyway, CTC thanks for this thread, it truly is an inspiration to many!

    Speak soon

You're very welcome Rummer. As I said, you ask the questions I don't even think of! I love your inquisitive nature and your eagerness to learn and it sounds like it's going to pay off in dividends! Well I hope it does for you anyway.

I must admit, I feel quite ashamed that I have done nothing in my garden. I'm thinking of calling the Police to see if anyone has handed in my "Get up and Go" because I lost mine. I wonder how long they keep lost property for?

I really am hopeless! I haven't seen my neighbour in my garden for months either so I think she may have given up too.

Oh well, tomorrow's another day, maybe I'll get out in the garden then.

Thanks Poo - I feel less idle now, less useless - as I'm way behind. I need a rocket.

I've just flattened the camera otherwise I'd be snapping the weird sunset - all mauve & bruised sky - why the italics? Make me sound slurred.

I have loads to do in the actual garden and am too much of a wimp to go out in the rain and snow to do it! In the house and online however I can get merrily carried away ordering things and getting seeds planted which I love. My window ledges are packed with seed trays but I forgot to water some so they have died already (bless em) so I have had a strong word with myself and will do my best not to kill any more!

Oh poo, I love that I come across like that, but I'm really not so much. The others' posts leave me exhausted! Today was a bit useless, with mobility issues, but I bought animal feed and then this evening got some movement back, so raced around ne of the lawns with the lawn mower....DH was home early and moving some logs, and he came round and pointed out I looked like a bit of a mad woman, practically running around the lawn...redfaced, puffing, braless and with my pigtail flying out behind me.....:o

still, got something done that otherwise wouldn't have been done. He only got two barrows of logs moved in the time it took me to do the lawn.

Now, with great excitement, I managed to stop the lawn mower in time when I saw VIOLETS! Oneof my very favourite things in the world, how did I miss the leaves before now? But they are where the extension is going....how and when to move them? TheyMUST be saved! And little celandine! How exciting, how wonderful!
