You will have to let us know what rock memorabilia you have or maybe selling, as i am sure my kids will be interested....

Could be a while......I know it's up there, but not where. Our attics are another world. I lost most of the best stuff in a fire in 1981, but DW replaced some of the albums, and because of other media coming along, those must be in pretty original nick. :)

Oooohhhh can we plant peas and parsnips indoors now! Marvelous! I just want to get everything going this year so that I can have a longer season.

Yes, but put the parsnips into loo roll inners, because they won't transplant well if the roots are disturbed - you just plant the whole thing after reducing the seedlings to one. Plant a few seeds in each, because parsnips can be erratic at germinating.

I start the peas indoors because of mice, but whether we have many mice now is questionable. Our hunting cat is finding them increasingly difficult to locate. :D

my son was given a large collection of LP's all like heavy metal/rock ? where's best place to sell them? i think they are 70s/80s ?
Probably ebay, as long as you describe the records properly they should get to their proper value.

Or send me the list, I'm not a collector, but I do love metal/rock vinyl and I'd definitely be interested in seeing what there is.

Off to do a bit of community work this morning, clearing the stream that runs past our houses with neighbours, then I haven't decided what to do. You know when you're at that point where you have so many things to do, you don't know which way to turn first? I feel a bit like that :D

you were up early this morning Davesnave..

I now know the name of the old derilict cottage, and managed to find it in the 1871 census, but that is as far as i can get..there was a father and 3 children, no mention of the mother...

If i want to get more info from the cenus i have to pay:o.

I had a look on ancestary place on line, thinking i might be able to trace the history of the house on there, but nothing, I have a title number too,

Hubby have said the same thing, dont go much higher than our original offer, as if the worst comes to the worst, and we did buy it ( very VERY unlikely by the sounds of it) and we couldnt get any sort of planning on it, there we can use it as an escape from our house, basically when things get too much for me with the developers, or eventually shoppers.... just go up there for a few days with the caravan...

but I am totally jumping the gun here... as the likelyhood is that we will be nowhere near the prices that are going to be offered...

Anyway back to reality now:rotfl: got a load of linen to wash and starch to sell in the antique place, and YES i might even start trying to de-louse my greenhouse and garden:eek::rotfl:

EDIT..... sorry Alfi.. yes totally agree with our Lotus-eater, ebay.... but really do make sure they dont jump due to scratches etc and are not warped..... or if you didnt want the hassle of selling them on ebay, put a list on here and lotus and i can battle it out....lol... or try and find a local record dealer who will buy the whole lot off you....you can find our local ones in the market and in the local shopping arcade....

Most library's have free computer access and most have access on their computers to ancestry.co.uk, also for free, I think this gives most if not all of the censuses.

I'm up early most mornings. :)

The reality is that if there's any serious hope of planning then, yes, it would go way above an 'amenity' price. If not, then it's a pony paddock with a potential barn/stable and you'd be in with a decent chance. Surely, if there was good redevelopment potential the sellers or their agent would be pushing this more strongly?

What's on your side is that there's not so much speculation going on now, and even ponies may have gone out of favour where people have been tightening belts.

Lean on your planning dept. Let them know it's only an informal opinion you want. There must have been other enquiries, so someone will know something. ;)

    what does 'indicative' mean ?

the say ' please note that this is indicative and no site survey has been undertaken'

  • Yay - I have planted some seeds :j:j:j:j I'd forgotten just how satisfying sitting in my greenhouse sowing seeds could be.

The rhubarb that I potted up is not doing too bad, 1 of the 2 that i bought at Morrisons is growing so far, will have to see if they still have the pink champagne at £1 a throw and get a couple more now I know they are viable. The early Victoria is also doing well.

Name is now on list for rescued battery hens, so just a case of wait and see now. Can't decide whether it's safe to put cover on polytunnel yer, or leave it a month in the hope that all risk of gale force winds is past.

Errr....I wouldn't claim to know exactly without seeing the whole section it relates to, but 'indicative' is just a weasel word meaning 'suggests.'
So in this instance, they may be suggesting something, (like a use for the land/building,) and because no survey has been carried out, it may or may not be possible. In other words, since what they're saying isn't definite, a buyer has no come-back if it turns out to be a load of cobblers!

Ah, that's an easier one! Don't do it yet. In fact don't do it until we have some warmer days. The polythene is easier to handle in warmer weather and it also stretches better. Do it now and it might not be tight enough later on.

I'm leaving my polytunnel till May/June. Mind you, as the frame's not built, you could say I don't have an option!:o ATM I'm working on the sales area, putting in posts for a windbreak. I figure having somewhere to sell our plants is more important than somewhere posh to produce them. If I hadn't been able to save the old polytunnel I might be thinking differently, but it's the sales bit that brings the money in.
  • Thanks Davesnave,

just before that line it was basically the name and the address and title no, and the approx amount of land

Me thinks they know planning is not going to be plain sailing or even likely....

    hiya.
well car boot sale was a wash out, i kept thinking "why am i here when i could be in bed"??
the weather has been chilly but dry, apparently its going to change tomorow......
CTC I WAS TALKING TO A FRIEND TODAY WHO IS ADAMANT YOU CAN LAY CLAIM TO THAT LAND BESIDE YOU..... if you hav used uncontested for [i think] 8 years + you can claim title but you have to find a LAND lawyer. if you can get it, and the owners want it back then they have to buy you out.... do not say you are giving it back or thats as good as gone. a lot of lawyers do not understand the loopholes in LAND so ask first and then get the FREE 1/2 hr-1hr advice that most offer. hope it helps [she has friends who did it]

the records i will list :( andd see what you think as im a "motown" gal.....

any news from CHOILLE?? [dont think iv missed a post:o]

my friend came off her horse yesterday . as she got on and the mare went bollistic for some reason and was bucking and rearing and she flew off. thankfully she had a hat on as she slammed down on her back onto concrete...she says she just heard this awful crunch in her hat as she hit tera firma !!:(
i went to see her today, cleaned her house for her!! made tea, sympathised as she walked like a wounded duck....:)
she is a nurse so feels a bit daft [diagnosing herself]...she has whiplash bad [reckons she was like a nodding toy dog when mare was buck/rearing] her elbows are going black and she is so stiff poor girl... i took her some tiger balm and a bag of marshmallows [her weakness] with the promise now that she will ring me if she cant move in the morning...
anyway i had a very poor offer for the picture from the dealer and the cheeky g*t said well he knew what id paid for it so surely his offer is a profit....!! i asked him why he didnt buy it at the auction then?? he said hed seen it but couldnt get there?? something odd there... but iv been assured its worth over £200 minimum so im happy.
i now have to eat as iv been snacking on stuff all day
