Hi All,
Well the weather is, well, very morbid, grey, drizzle, rain, bleak, cold, never mind only a a week or two, and hopefully the weather will start changing for the better...
Well i actually bought my seed pots and onion sets this week:T, so there is hope yet for me this year to get into the mood for growing...lol..
I had the letter from hte estate agents, and to be honest its still not clear cut...
off the top of my head ( left letter in work) the closing dates for bids is monday 28th feb, 12pm, you have to put all bids in writting and worded. ( and not x amount over highest bid) give name of solicitor, and prove you have the money to back up the bid, it is being sold on an unconditional basis, plus even though the bids have got to be in by monday, they have the right not to accept the highest bid..
there is no guild-line price etc
so it looks as though they dont know really know how much money they want for this land.... and if they dont like the look of the bids, hang on to it, and do it all again:rotfl:
Havent heard anything back from the council, so might chase it up at the begining of the week...
Off to do a few hours in work.....catch you all later..
choille hope you are ok, havent read a post by you in a few days....or have you been busy plucking feathers from your cockeralsWork to live= not live to work0 -
Alfie/Davesnave, good for you, just wish we had some cash in the attic, just insulation instead0

Well, snow! Not expected as of about 5pm last night when I checked the forecast. Squealy wheels this morning but it was only when I got up that I realised it was snowing again. Plainly the first lot had fallen, partly melted and was being covered by the new fall. Only a couple of centimetres on the turnpike but enough to make things slushy and slow me down. And out goes todays allotment session.
It made me late for the Potato Day, one of my annual markers. Mainly this year it was varieties that I have tried and tested in the past. Got Red Duke of York, Arran Victory and Fortyfold, none of which were available last year. All really tasty in different ways. Then the coloured potatoes, Yeltholm Gypsy, Shetland Black and Highland Burgundy. At a different end of the scale, Sarpo Mira.
Alan Romans www.alanromans.com was there this year so there were some specials and I bought a handful of minitubers to grow on this year. They are near virus free as is possible, so I can plant the seed next year safely.
Wow just realised that the prices were half the commercial rates (although some of the tubers "were too large for posting".)If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
as im sure we all have "time off" from here, am i being over concerned with the fact theres been no sign of CHOILLE for some days!!??
maybe just lines down or something but would be nice to know shes ok .....0 -
