Yes, haven't heard for a day or two. It turned colder this pm and the wind got up here, ready to bring in another batch of 'weather' overnight. I think it's heading oop norf to cause more bother tomorrow, while we have a nice spring day...

Glad the pump is working well & hope you wash those dandelions! I'm getting Swiss chard & beetroot tops in the polytunnel now. :)

oop is lancs (falling oo, unexplosive p, falling)

north is west yorks (pronounced n, falling th, elongated r sound, almost trilling)

Evening! I have been working hard on the house today and ignoring the garden a bit. Thank you for the feedback about the greenhouse staging, I guess I got carried away with the presentation instead of the practicalities.

If I plant lettuce seeds atm and let them grow up will it be okay to plant them out when they are a reasonable size under a mini polytunnel? I am itching to get things out in the garden!

You need the right type, but I've had some in the doorless polytunnel for months. My newly potted-on "Reine des Glaces" are just sitting there, not doing a lot, but they'll pick up when the weather does. Your place will be colder, but I still think you can risk planting a few now and some more at the beginning of March.

Nice place Alfie, but what/where is it? Your find with the art work inspired me to Google some very old books I was given as a kid, which have remained in various attics ever since. A bookshop in London has a complete set priced at £1750. They are better bound than mine, but have some water damage, so I know there's at least a rotovator in the ones I have! :)

I thought the 'house' looked a bit wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on it! I think now it's the lack of guttering/flashing.

Huskinson, eh? Best get on to the Duke of Bedford....;)
