Well tattycath that was the good news and the bad news all in one but your good news was brill - good luck.

My good news is that sks has already petitioned the council and they are wholly behind it. They are setting up a working party (unfortunately not to dig, only to look at possible sites :D). However, land which is not optioned for housing in this area is as rare as ivory stubs in beaks and councils grind exceeding slow so we'll have to see. Nil desperandum!

Find myself wanting to break into notes in order to get coins to put into my big squash bottle... don't think that's the idea, somehow. :rotfl:

Not much happening in the garden unfortunately at the minute. Carpet fitters coming tomorrow morning so all the extra bits and bobs are being shunted up to the attic for safekeeping till all the hullaballoo is over tomorrow!! Hopefully they will be almost done by the time I get back from the dentist lol.

Hoping you are all well and enjoying the reasonably nice weather we are having here up north xxx

It looks like my daydream fund may become my nightmare fund. It's 99% certain that I'm being made redundant at the end of August.

It also means I won't be adding £50 a month to the company Sharesave scheme after that either. And DH will still not be fit enough to return to work as he still needs another operation to repair the abdominal hernia!

    Oh well.....

Aw, stitchy, life's so unfair at times, but as Mambury says, sometimes something bad has to happen to allow in something really good.

And if you have some time on your hands, you can use them creatively, I know.
  • Well, I have had a long weekend on my tod (well during the day anyway) had friday off work and a hu-mong-us list that I had made myself for things to do....

Friday was ok, went through the contents of my entire wardrobe and o/h's, dusted in there as well (its a fitted one that goes quite far back!), mananged to find several pairs of trousers that should be ok for work :j was thinking I might have to buy a pair so that was good news.

Then spent about 2 hours trying to find o/h and his b-i-l a folding chair:rolleyes: after several shops and grotty shop assistants  I finally managed to bag a bargain in Wilkinsons 2 for a tenner :j

Finally arrived home with a headache, managed to cobble together a frittata as could'nt be bothered to come up with anything else.

Today has been a nightmare :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Woke up at 4.30 again as o/h is going to grand prix every day this weekend, went back to sleep with the cat and finally emerged from my coma at 10.45am :o I had missed my hair appointment at half eight so this was not good news. Sorted out all the animals (2 cats, 2 bunnies) and set to work on ebay listing clothing removed from wardrobe on friday.

Computer crashed. Finally got them all on by about 3.30pm.....

Decided then to attempt to make redcurrant jelly as o/h had the juice all ready in a jug but thought I would be helpful :D Overboiled the jelly and turned it into treacle :o

Now most people would have given up by this point, but no! I then decided to try my hand at gooseberry jam....:rotfl: Added too much water but the end result (I hope) should be ok.

Then I simmered a duck breast (from out of the freezer which I have had almost a year :o) to make a duck curry. I bought this with the intention on using it in a Jamie Oliver recipe but after removing the duck from the freezer this morning can no longer find the recipe, so its either there and does'nt appeal to me anymore or its not jamies recipe at all.....

Anyhow, after an hour of simmering away the duck still had blood running through it  so that went on for even longer. Then I made a hugh fws cheesecake :D and finally got to finish the duck curry which was'nt that nice to be honest.

Escaped from the complete pigsty of a kitchen  at around nine pm to pop to the allotment to water the greenhouse, back at half nine and spent the next hour and a half washing up, made o/h's sarnies for tomorrow and am now on the puter until I crash in my bed in about 20mins.....

Good life!? I call it the cream crackered life!

Morning everyone! I have had a really tough few weeks but I am now back and ready to make big changes! The garden has been coping without me (so are the weeds) but I am going to give it some serious TLC over the next few days. Been enjoying my raspberries and going to pick my shallots today.
Getting closer to my dream day by day. Glad to hear things are moving on for you all and I am looking forward to hearing more of your news!

    Morning all

It looks like we have all been missing in action for a while ;)
My mum had a routine mamogram 2 weeks ago... and ended up in a private hospital yesterday to have a mastectomy  -so I have been all over the place ..being out here hasn't helped me with the "flapping" :o anyway I have spoken to her this morning and she came through the op fine :Tso now Im slightly more relaxed :D
I will have to check my bank accounts so I can update the figures -but there should be a bit extra somewhere;).

I have been eating raspberries and strawberries -oohhh and red/white/black currants -not many at once but enough for a few every day :j... the salad leaves are going strong, and yesterday we had our first potatoes -mmmmmm they were gorgeous.
Quite a lot of tomatoes on and the first squash and courgetes appearing -ooohhh and quite a few pea pods on -just waiting for them to fatten up:D

I hope everyones lives calm back down soon ..so we can get on with the nice things :p
Hope everyone is well ....will pop back later when I have figured out the numbers !
