I don't know where the time has gone either, but I'm pleased to say our purchase is still on-track & we should sign/exchange contracts in a week or so.

We are going to see the Planning Officer about our smallholding on Tuesday. From what I can find out ATM the planning for polytunnels has lapsed, but I don't think there will be an issue getting permission for a couple if we site them sensitively.

At the moment I'm looking for a larger & newer van, as I don't think ours will stand the strain of moving our stuff nearly 100 miles. Not sure how many trips that will be. Lots anyway!

Good luck to all you savers. I'm afraid it's all spending for us now.

Not much else to report 'cept I'm off to harvest some elderflowers from MY tree (!) to make some champagne. Did the cordial a couple of weeks ago and now I have enough heads for champange for xmas!

Morning all, sorry for not posting before now but theres been loads going on and not all good but cant talk about the bad stuff just yet, gotta wait and see how it turns out first. Got an electric bill the other day for £1200 for 6 months - absolutely livid!!! going to look at switching to another supplier.

We had a cracking thunderstorm yesterday so fingers crossed its cleared the air. Well the herbs and tatties sure got a good watering.

Got the carpets and cooker and don't know how we managed without them before lol. And the kitten has settled in well and is now a complete psycho!!!

will post later on as its my step=daughters 13th birthday today and my DD1 is performing at the community centre later with the local drama group so lots to do today, cakes to bake etc lol!

Hope you are all well xxx

hey bonsibabe, check the bill carefully. I am with scottish power and only recently noticed that they were charging me the standard rate 24 hours when I was on an economy seven meter. This had been going on for 3 years! £900 refund thank you very much.

I would get them to send you a copy of each and every bill for the whole time you have been with them and go through with a fine tooth comb. I;m sure some of these companies bank on the fact that 'we' don;t notice what they charge us!

Let us know how it goes.....

Trust everyone else is doing well....

Our electric bill at this place we're renting was £600+ for 6 weeks, but that was before we were aware of the Economy 7 and in the middle of that very cold January/ February.

By the time we leave, our payments will have caught up with what we owe (the right way round!) so that would work out be in excess of £2000 a year. This is a badly insulated 4 bed house, with no gas supply, and I'm glad I don't own it!

    Hope that info helps

We pay a fortune for gas and elec over the winter but use hardly any over the summer so it balances out although our bills could do with going down even more, if my OH was a bit more energy conscious it would help!
Progressing well with my daydream fund and getting there a little bit at a time, now got the family on board which is a bit help!
I had set yesterday aside to work in the garden and just my luck the heavens opened as I stepped outside and the gardening was a no go. On the upside however I didn't have to spend any time watering!!!

After much discussion, I have decided to sign a compromise agreement at work. Basically I "volunteer" for redundancy but retain all my rights as if I hadn't volunteered. They even pay for me to take the agreement to a solicitor to read through.

I am not seeing this as an end to my job, but as a new beginning. My redundancy pay and tax free lump sum from my pension pot will give me £7000 to start my business. The Stitching Witch will be coming to a web browser near you at the end of September!!

In the meanwhile, another £50 has been added to my Sharesave account this month and my regular savings account matures on 18th July and £100 of that will be going into the daydream fund. :D
