Vick - that sounds a good idea. I just watched Pyscho running under the orps & just pecking as she runs past. I think once the weather improves it's all confined to quarters - to their own runs. Just now I'm giving them the run of the place so they can come up & shelter under the caravan.
Well it's actually come quite bright outside & I'm back out to lug up some sawn rowan - hopefully without breaking a limb of my own.0 -
DH went out to get fuel in the LR and has had a terrible accident. LR is almost certainly written off.
Thankfully and most importantly DH and dog-dog...who was with him are both fine.

LIR - That's terrible, but at least they are fine. Was it the state of the roads - our's are a disgrace again.
CTC - The book sounds great & what a bargain.
I'm gonna hunt out some BT hubs that they kept sending us & get them listed on ebay later on.0 -

Sorry to hear that, but at least your loved ones are OK, and cars are replaceable.
Roads are awful in places now. My mental inventory of potholes is exceeding the capacity of my brain to remember them all, especially in the dark.0 -

ooo heck,,,, sooooooooo glad they are ok, do you know what happened?
You make sure you are ok too, even though you were not in the land rover... you have been shaken up to with it all..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Lir, glad that DH is ok, but he'll probably be a bit shocked, so plenty of TLC. And an extra bone for the dog.
Choille, you tempted me on to the amazon website, so now £27 worse off0 -
DH is amazingly calm. That LR is his ''baby''. The people who found them thought DH was squashed dead with his legs out of the wrekage....but he was just trying to get the dog out.
Cause? Horrifically just black ice. DH is a VERY sedate driver. Having learned as a proper grown up not a kid he has no speed lust and ...quite frankly...is a bit of a fuss pot about safety. The police told me they have fatalities ''a lot'' there because of the black ice. Like rhiwfield's wrong side of the river...no sun for much of the winter and in a weird cold spot ...so the ice is just horrific. The road has an odd camber but is otherwise not bad.
As everyone says...DH and dog are fine....thats all that matters.0 -

I wrote off a Volvo estate when I was much younger, doing about 45mph when hit a patch of black ice, spun, rolled, ended upside down in a ditch. Hardly a bruise but taken to hospital and in a bit of a daze tried to discharge myself from hospital at about 2 am in the morning, doctor just said "and how will you get home?" (which was 70 miles away). I was kept in for a couple of days, very lucky to be alive as this was before wearing seat belts became compulsory.0 -
spill the beans rhiwfield, what did you order from Amazon?:p
