That's what I do - add crushed garlic to their drinking water. I think some use cider vinegar too.0

I've never used cider vinegar but garlic is not going to do any harm at all.0

I've got a really old 'country Wife' book that seems to advocate cider vinegar for everything. I wish I knew where the book was as it's got all sorts of weird & wonderful stuff & some great hand written notes in the margins.0

We add apple cider vinegar to the water as well. Sposed to be a general tonic and ward off respiratory problems by maintaining an acidic balance in the crop that kills off the bugs.
I think! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Hello! I have never heard of the Verm-X treatment and having had a wee read it appears to be very new, so I really do not feel qualified to offer an opinion. Always worth having a wee read through the clinical research if you are interested. As for the other remedies I have never heard of them being used.
When I initially graduated I thought about something like that LIR but as I am in a completely different discipline now it would involve too much time and research to keep abreast of current developments.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Well that sounds convincing. I might even have a swig myself - supposed to be a bit of a cure all.0 -

The eggs are supposed to taste slightly different, but I've never been able to taste the garlic, even though the water smells quite strongly of it.
Mind, having rubbed Vick on the marans bottom today who knows what her eggs will taste like when she comes back into lay?0 -

Just to confirm, besides the Verm X, we use the apple cider vinegar too.
I was taking it myself for aches and pains at one stage, but I seem to be free of those now, so either it worked, or I just got fitter.0
