Hi Alfie - funny we had folks down a few weeks back looking for scrap & they were possibly genuine but looked a bit dodgy - irish - not that Irish are dodgy per se, but these looked like real tinks & they tipped out their McDonald's wrappers & coke bottles out onto the ground. Nearest McDonalds is Inverness 70 odd miles away.

I picked them up & stuffed them back into their van - guy going ,'sorry mussus, sorry mussus.' They'd got their van stuck down here. I don't lke people driving down. In fact I bought padlocks for the gate & shed. We hadn't got a lock on it.

Sorry you have had this Alfie - thing is when times get tight some folks will move into an area & nick what they can.

CTC - I know what you mean & I know people who do cash in on it (usually people who have moved here fromLondon) & I feel so shut down at the moment - hard to describe - think it's the mid winter hibernation shut down - at the moment that I don't think I have the energy for expending on anything other than sitting here of an eveing doing little other than feeding the stove.

Oh the weather outside is frightful

Why did I buy a snow shovel yesterday, that means I've got no excuse not to clear the drive :(

(other than it'll be a waste of time with more snow waiting to fall)

Hens upset again. Short term memories, or what? Vorwerk flew to the feeding ark, rather than put her feet in it.

I threw down some corn. That fixed things!

Big hail storms throughout the night but not as much lying as I thought would be but the roads are bad & I think not much will be moving.

The hens are all under the caravan in the main. Mrs Hopperty the ancient one is still in her house - can't blame her. It's a grey leaden sky - everything has gone black and white again.
  • we let the chickens and ducks out.. the chickens looked out, and went back in...lol.... the ducks are just playing round in the snow..

been upstairs looking out the back window at the cars going round the roundabout.... what flipping twonks... We even seen a motorbike:eek: what a plonker....slipping all over the place..

the snow has eased off now... so i think we have got to 'watch this space' for tonight/tomorrow about having more snow....

    havent done a single thing.....:rotfl:

One of my elderly cats isn't too great. He gets rhinitis & he's very 'chesty' this morning. Vets is neaarly 70 miles away. I'm gonna try & get him to post summat (anti-biotics) out.

Hope they can get it to you. It would be wise of them to send you some for emergencies any way, wouldn't it?

Had a bit of a snow flurry this morning, and DH said it fluttered down in the City for a while. The ground is good and hard again, which means we can move some more logs from the garden into the barn if it stays dryish over the''holidays''.
