Lir, I suspect the short days and the cold gets to us all. I find that my skin splits around the cuticles of my fingers, b****y painful! The skin so soft I bought to repel horseflies gets used now instead. I've moped around more than usual, tried kicking myself but doesnt always work.
Got a village do this weekend and I'm wondering whether to go in hiking boots, at least I bought some shoe polish to make them gleam
A grace note is that so far this month its been sunnier here than normal, that lifts the spirits and we've been down to the beach fairly often for a walk or to collect kindling. Almost impossible to stay gloomy on that lovely short drive. Mind, with the forecast we just might be stuck in for a few days0 -
LIR.......super cyber ((((((hugs)))))))
winter started early this year, and its going to be a long hard winter...plus we are not far away from the shortest day of the year....it sounds as though you are worn out, and maybe a bit run down.... please take it easy, and over the next few days only do the bare basics... and just snuggle up and take care of yourself....
Alifie.... funny enough i bought a small hot water bottle from poundland, and was thinking of having a 'play around' making a cover, the jumper idea is fab.... I know they make great cushions too, but buttoning up the cardie and cuting the body part of it to make a square cushion...
Choille.... lol... about OH and the jumper..... a bit of a heads up for you.. type in nylon nighties or poigoir sp? and see how much they go for;) especially the 70's flabouyant ones... like the ones mildred used to wear in george and mildred... the 70's sitcom... hope you are broad minded as most of the buyers of these are men:rotfl:
Rhiwfield .. do you think we are going to have all that snow they have forcasted for us? on the met office website it says we have a 60% chance of snow...I know as the day went on today it was getting colder and colder....
poosmate...... hope you are ok in this cold snap.... dont forget wear plenty of layers...also wear tights... My uncle used to swear by them:eek: yes i did say uncle....lol... he was a policeman, and when he was out working in the cold, they used to wear women's tights as they kept them warm....Work to live= not live to work0 -
I was totally shattered today and slept for hours, think I have been burning the candle at both ends recently. It has done me the world of good.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

the rest or the candle burning?
I'm planning to get done what I can outside in the morning (weather forecast is least damning about that time) then try and get an afternoon break.
I'm almost hoping our grass runs out soon.:oOne the horses are all on hay they'll stay closer to the yard, making the worst job easier.0 -

We should all be so grateful to the men and women who risk their lives every day to keep us safe.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I second that!
Hi all, just a quickie from me, I'm very cold and tired too, must be something in the air! So I'm off to bed very soon.
I have a cough and am trying to beat it before it turns to another bout of bronchitis. Plenty of hot lemon drinks and soothing lozenges for me.
Hope we don't get too much snow over the next couple of days.
Take care all,

And didnt the tommies wear french silk knickers to stop chafing on route marches
CTC, I'm guessing we'll have some disruption in S Wales over the next few days, maybe starting tonight, we'd be ok if it wasnt for the fact that we live on a steep hill. Getting down to the gritted village road can get pretty hairy. Got a craft fair on Saturday which may be at risk
Cant really complain though, we're fairly well prepared and the house is snug, but all of you in the build process and in temporary accommodation, keep dry, warm and healthy!!0
