I should have a right snoop about - loads of stuff seems new on there, plastic fridge magnets etc. I haven't really looked at it that much.

We were supposed to be having a metriote shower but it's overcast & cloudy out there.

Feral cat yodelled all night, but because she's quieter when the light is on usually I tried doing that...consequently it was light as well as noisy and I got little sleep...and look like death this morning...appropriately enough for those chickens. :(

I only like fowl language! Chatting to the hens at 7.30 this morning, I told them I wanted more brown eggs and not to look upon yesterday as some kind of high point. ;)

Looks like the ram is a bit lame. I will have to tell Pete the farmer, but I don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill. :o Is it normal for sheep to limp a bit? I know the cat does sometimes, and she gets over it!

Its very COMMON to see lame sheep....doesn't mean its ''normal'' if you see what I mean. If I were Pete I'd certainly want to know.

Well THE rooster is in his element. Very proud of himselve and his clan. He won't be able to keep them all, because some are his daughters. So, after festive season I'm hoping to get the old hen house re-erected to keep him and his proper wives in then when spring is in the air I can start collecting eggs to cook for Alfie and the person who wants to buy them from me, and after they are cooked I'll pop some in for myself. :)

edit: on plucking the hybrids have excellently meaty thighs and legs. I dodn't feed them for the table, but even so they are a bit light on breast meat.

CTC... an idea for you to MAKE/SELL ??
get an old [good nick tho] cardigan, bright coloured, patterned, plain, chunky knit or fine ,[buttoned] lay flat inside out, buttoned up. buttoned side up. lay a hot water bottle [regular size] place on cardigan so buttons will be up the centre. chalk round outline [use chalk so it doesnt "color run"]. put pins randomly over area to hold back to front. allow maybe 1/2 inch for hem. sew around this outline with a hemming stitch or zig zag. THEN cut around that. if it is a chunky knit then sew some bias binding over top of hem to double the hold. turn inside out and you have some amazing fun "hottie " covers.... if you can get a LONG cardy you will get 2 covers from it. you can also put "pattern" horizontal so the buttons go across the back. its great fun and easy peasy.. uses up old cardigans too. make sure you pin the cardy so it doesnt shift when you sew tho. the best ones are the fairisle type, cable knits etc. you would get minimum £7.50 each....
