Today- Absolutely nothing :( I find our boot sale is now becoming awash with people selling new stuff at inflated prices. Gone are the days where there were no new items... Shall wait till our next JS.

nearly, it was 50p and came with some other bits and bobs, so for 50p two third reich stamps apparently, a letter dated 1936 with envelope and old stamp, and 4 old driving licences,a 1942 city and guids certificte, and a clothing ration book, and two very old dictionaries miniture ones.

in the letter the very beautiful ink handwriting says about buying some linen and how her mother places great faith in "wallis's" for buying items, i wonder if this is the same wallis clothes store of today?

a bargain if only for the social history aspect of it all

Yes, it would be. I think Wallis was founded in 1927 or thereabouts. I love little gems like this...old photographs, diaries and visitor's books are a fascinating reminder of how we used to live.

Sounds fascinating - but now I'm going to say to you what my husband ALWAYS says to me when I find things like this:

'But what will you DOOO with it?'

My auntie has a whole box full of Pippa dolls. When I was younger I spent hours playing with them. I don't really see her that often any more, but I wonder how much her haul is worth?! Lots, I bet! She had about 15 different dolls, lots of furniture and accessories and bits and pieces.

Dig them out and look up the values on ebay - you might be a bit

to be honest, i'm not sure, its the bits and pieces of someones life, and i forgot to say that it must have come from a house clearance because his obituary clipping was in the pages of the dictionary, so i had a bit of a think about him, and his life, and his family, the letter was to him and his wife, and now i dont know what i'll do with it.

i must say it made me a bit sad for a while despite being fascinating.
