Bought today from my local charity shop a shappy chic style metal 3 tiered cakestand.
Bought one of these about a year ago for £12 from Homebase and they are selling on ebay for £25. I paid £2! I almost fell through the floor as this charity shop is usually quite pricey.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -
Well done on the cakestand, Judith!
Can't wait until tomorrow for my local car boot.0 -

Great to hear about everyone's bargains, looking forward to more tomorrow after the boot sales:j. I forgot to mention last week that I bought 12 100W lightbulbs for £3 from the boot sale, they're due to be banned by the EU (from September I believe) so are difficult if not impossible to buy in the shops. I do have the longlife bulbs around the house but in some areas only a 100w bulb will do, for instance in my bathroom by the time the lightbulb has warmed up we've finished what we were doing...it drives me mad:eek:. I'm keeping my eye open for more.0

Just catching up on everyone's finds on my favourite thread.
I got a couple of charity shops bits today, not mega cheap but I'm still pleased with them.
Time Out guide to South of France 1.99 (we're off there in July)
Planet skirt bnwt 3.00
M&S top 2.50
I won't be able to go to the boot sale tomorrow as I'm out with friends, but will wear the "new" top I bought today, and look forward to reading of everyone elses weekend bargains tomorrow evening.
Happy shopping everyone0 -

I once got a Pippa / Dawn doll in a box of other dolls I had bought for a friends daughter from the car boot. She didn't want this little doll (preferring the Barbies) as it was in a sorry state - only one and a half legs and a hair cut.
I stuck it on ebay at a 99p start, thinking someone might need an arm or something for repairs to one of theirs, and I was swamped with questions. In the end, it sold for £97  Apparently the lady who bought it told me it was really rare and had it been in good condition, it would have been worth well over £250.
My auntie has a whole box full of Pippa dolls. When I was younger I spent hours playing with them. I don't really see her that often any more, but I wonder how much her haul is worth?! Lots, I bet! She had about 15 different dolls, lots of furniture and accessories and bits and pieces.0 -
