...but I think I found the best non-bargain of the day - a bag of hair rollers (the old fashioned spiky kind), complete with lots of hair caught in them
The bag said £1 on it. Somehow I don't think there would be any takers.

Eughh! I can feel a new thread coming on - best non-bargain!

I've been loving this thread, and it inspired me to go to my first boot sale of the year this morning. I didn't get much, just a couple of books and DVDs, but I think I found the best non-bargain of the day - a bag of hair rollers (the old fashioned spiky kind), complete with lots of hair caught in them

Oooh I saw a 1/2 used bottle of screenwash at ours today... guy trying to get about £3 for it!

I only got a couple of things today: a mobile phone battery for 10p and a pair of almost brand new leather shoes, worn once and fit me perfectly for £1! :)

I've been to 4 bootsales this weekend :) I love bank holidays

Brand new dog collar, rope lead and extendable snag leads £5 - the collar alone is £12.99 in the shops as we recently bought one just like it but it was too big

A few ink cartridges 50p each - usually about £15 each so saved myself loads of money

Gem setter machine for studding clothing etc £1 - currently £14.69 in Argos

Current Cricket shirt for OH £1

Hermes silk scarf - its an italian made one so not the real thing but it was £3 and the real ones fetch a couple of hundred plus so I'm going to wear this one

    P-touch label maker machine £2 usually £20

One lady had lots of magazines from last month, all brand new for 40p each or 3 for £1 so I bought Cosmo Bride (was £3.99) GQ for my fiance and Closer with Heat (was £1.95)

Black leather vintage 80s belt £1

Gorgeous huge green vase from The Pier £3

The Dark Knight DVD £2 - still £6 on Amazon and I've wanted to see it since it came out

Lots of DVDs for 50p/£1 each

Didn't get a huge amount this weekend but I am pleased with what I did get
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

Me too, I've done 3 this weekend, just can't get enough of them:j.
Today I bought a bag of clothing from a lady, all in my size, 50p each (must have been 15 items), all fit too...yay! Mostly Gap & Oasis, all smelled lovely and fresh and like new. From the same lady a pair of red Converse pumps £3 brand new. Also a Paul's Boutique handbag brand new for £2 (I only know about this label 'cos my DD bought one for £60 a few months ago:eek:). She's not keen on the style so will sell that on Ebay.

Also got 3 black wrought iron planters that go on the wall, £5 the lot, will use them for my strawberry and tomato plants.

A brand new meat slicer (still in box) £1.50, I got one last week too, will decide which one to keep and sell the other one. From the same stall 2 brand new kitchen knives Gustav Emil £1 each, the guy had quite a few more all different sizes, wish I'd bought the lot now.

An Accessorise sponge bag and a LK Bennett beach bag, 50p each.

Roll on next weekend, I get far more excited spending money at boot sales than going to the shops, means I can afford to buy good quality items instead of having to go for the cheapest:D

I can't believe how much some people try and get for their stuff, or what rubbish some people have on their stalls:eek:. Piles of really horrible looking worn out clothes, why would they think anyone would give them money for it? I'm not averse to getting down on my knees and rummaging through piles of clothes on the floor (found some great bargains like that), but I can usually judge by the first couple of bits I pick up if it's worth carrying on looking or not;)

Wow the Lego was a bargain, perhaps I should take more notice at the boot sales;)

    Salvation Army rocks for bargains.

I got a Christian Lacroix (sp?) jacket for £15.

Two sizes too big but who cares?

Two pairs of Office shoes for £5.99 each.

Also vintage ties from SA for a quid or so each - make really funky belts.

I haven't been to a car boot since I was a teenager. I remember getting loads of retro Adidas stuff when it was trendy again first time round.

Are there any good ones in North Tyneside? Just moved here and haven't noticed signed for any.
