well if anyone is in oxfordshire make you way to bampton this sunday its the village wide garage sale. Its about 85 houses taking part. Meet in middle of village for a map of houses included. Its nominal for this and there is normally a competion with words or something to find at each stall. its all in aid of the local spajers (The Society for the Preservation of Ancient Junketing).
The SPAJERS raise about £6000 annually, which allows them to give each pensioner £10 - sometimes £20 - at Christmas, an annual party, and an annual outing.

My mum lives in Bampton so one year i was over selling off bits and pieces at her house i was surprised at the amount of people around and the amount of garage sales going on. These are people who probably don't normally carboot and its a great attmostphere.

I think its on from 1030-2.30 or thereabouts.

checked with my mum today and she said its a £1 for a map and there is a prize draw at the end for most collected words and its money usually not other prizes :).

I'm an avid car boot fan but dont seem to get chance to go to many at the moment (a hubby that works shifts and a five year old and five month old probably have something to do with that).

I think my best ever buy was a Le Crueset saucepan set for £5.00. When I asked how much the only saucepan on the stall one was and said I would have it the lady said I will get the rest of the set for you! Two large and one small saucepan with lids unused for £5.00.

Wow what a bargain! I keep my eyes open for Le Crueset saucepans but haven't spotted any yet, people tend to keep them once they've bought them.

What a fab idea. Whole streets selling stuff at once. Saves on pitch fees too!

I went to a boot sale today but got completely overwhelmed with people, the heat and it was bigger than I've ever seen it. I did see some audio books on cassette and thought cassettes might not sell but checked on ebay and would def have made a profit on them. Ended up not buying a thing, but there's another one on Monday so might go to that.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi went to local car boot this morning pleased with my purchases, I get up early and browse around.
This morning got a few good buys, I dont buy things to sell on. Usually I look for bits and bobs that I like or could use, I just love going and getting the odd bargain, mostly I give things to people that I find, usually my family.

This morning picked up Olivia Morris slag bag (cream with tatoos) in great condition in box for £4, will keep for DD birthday, she will love it.
    Blue converse trainers 30p.
3 x pairs of socks £1 for hubby
shirt and tie from Debenhams £1 , was £15 when I looked a few months ago.
could have brought loads of Laura ashley clothing for 50p each but they were size 12 and a new microwave ( unwanted wedding gift, from young couple - both teachers) for £3, bargain.
