If your instructor thinks you're ready then I'm sure you are, it's wicked when you first start driving. I passed about 8 years ago and am now at the point where I'll do anything not to drive, if it wasn't for work I'd prefer to have no car but needs must.
At least once you start driving you'll be able to get to and from work safely without the extra cost.PAD total since 27/07/09 = £60.83 - [strike]Capital One[/strike]:[strike] £192.73[/strike]£27.00 Next catalogue: [strike]£429.00[/strike] £154.00Welcome car HP: [strike]£6090[/strike], £3900, Welcome Loan:[strike]£3370[/strike], £2660HLC #1: [strike]£907.00[/strike]£637.00, HLC #2:[strike] £838.00[/strike]£608.00Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 - Member #649 - Target £500...banked £119.50 already.0 -
I know its a bit late on playing catch up, just a thought re banoffee pie, its a bit dearer but carnation do toffee version of condensed milk- basically done all the cookin for u,does look a bit weird as its so thick, but u just spoom straight on to the base.
Will catch up again on all debt busting side xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi Mum2One,
Thanks for that I actually used that last time I made it but this time thought I'd make it myself cos my Mum had bought me a cake book, think I will stick to the tinned next time. The book said to mix the toffee ingredients up (can't remember what they were off the top of my head) and then stir for 5 minutes and it'd be like toffee but it just looked like an anaemic mess even after stirring for over 1/2 an hour!!!
How's you, long time no hear.
There isn't much debt busting to catch up on at the moment I'm afraid, I seem to be lurching from one set back to another.

Well I've just checked my online banking and worked out all my dd's for the 1st of the month and as long as I pay my child maintenance from my ex in I'm only £2.45 short including the BT bill!!! It means I literally don't have a penny to spend though until the 4th but we have a bit of food in the cupboard so it's do-able. Just trying to work out if it's worth literally having no money for 10 days or not, part of me wants to be virtuous and go with no money but then if I cancel the BT bill like Hypno says then at least if anything does come up I wont have to put it on the Cap 1.

I've been having a bit of a lazy day this morning. I've posted a few bits sold on eBay and hoovered but other than that I haven't done much at all...
I have done 20 minutes of my kick boxing dvd which must be working cos although I can walk up the stairs I am extremely wobbly walking back down them. My legs just seem to have no strength in them now. I've also had a nice long bath and washed my hair as it was in danger of having the ability to fry chips!!!
Now I must get on with some bits otherwise I'll regret it when I get home tomorrow and the house is a mess.
1) Put washing on
2) Poopa scoop and jeyes fluid the patio (someone please remind me why I have dogs).
3) Do at least half an hours worth of ironing to try and conquer at least part of the mountain forming in the kitchen
4) Put said washing on the line when the load has finished.
5) Make macaroni cheese for dinner for when I get home after work tomorrow.
I know this is boring but it helps me get stuff done when I have to check back here.
I'm starting to think my spending habits have had more of an impact on my 5yo than I thought. She asked me today if I could take her to Next after school so she could buy a new dress, I explained that at the moment I didn't have enough money and she asked if she could spend her £1 that she got from the tooth fairy!!! I then explained that £1 wasn't enough to buy a summer dress but that if she saves her money when she has enough we will go and get a dress...maybe I'll match it, we'll see, I'm so careful with how I act about money now. I want her to learn to be sensible and to budget and to save for what she wants, such valuable lessons. I'd hate for her to end up struggling like me.PAD total since 27/07/09 = £60.83 - [strike]Capital One[/strike]:[strike] £192.73[/strike]£27.00 Next catalogue: [strike]£429.00[/strike] £154.00Welcome car HP: [strike]£6090[/strike], £3900, Welcome Loan:[strike]£3370[/strike], £2660HLC #1: [strike]£907.00[/strike]£637.00, HLC #2:[strike] £838.00[/strike]£608.00Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 - Member #649 - Target £500...banked £119.50 already.0 -
At least she offered to spend her own money, she doesn't know you can't even get a pair of socks in Next for £1. Could be worse, my LO refers to Next as 'MY shop, for all my clothes' he thinks he owns the place!!
xXx0 -
Lol, I should have been worried when Next was one of the first words she could spell...she has so many clothes with Next on the label.

Hi helnag,
You're quite right trying to teach about money when they are young! My niece will get money from her gran i.e. both pocket money and hand-outs then when asked for it back (the hand-out money) she will put her hand on her forehead and say 'Forget'! It's quite funny but at the same time not really teaching her the value of money!
Your to-do list is so good, I need to get more organised myself, house is starting to look really bad! Well done in getting all that done x0 -
Oops! I have a feeling my LO will be like that about Guiness, which is worse, hes been obsessed with it ever since he learnt how to say 'grandad's beer' about a year ago. It's not that my Dad drinks alot really but he's got all the merchandise and my LOs been able to recognise the logo and the bird on it for almost as long as I can remember. Gets slightly embarrassing when hes shouting about it in public sometimes or if I have to go into work in the day (normally to complain about not getting paid properly)
I'm ok, sent off my phone to Environe earlier so should hopefully have a nice little cheque next week for something I was going to just chuck out once i'd got round to transferring all the pics off it. Can't wait til I get paid tomorrow, I have £50 in the bank atm and lots of DDs set to come out soon so I'm going to have to be really good about not spending money next week. At least with the bank holiday soon i'll be getting an extra nights work on top of the 2/3 i'm doing atm. I'm very excited, on the Sat we've got Reggie Yates from Radio DJ'ing and the Sun is a beach party with hot tubs and everything (really pity the Glass collectors that night). Do you think I could get Reggie to sign something and stick it on eBay??:rotfl:
xXx0 -
Yay on the cheque, I got a small £6 from Mazuma for an old mobile a couple of weeks ago but hey £6 is £6 and every penny helps. Considering my dog had pierced the battery and it didn't switch on anymore I can't really knock it.
Funny about the Guiness thing, kids can be hilarious some times but I'm sure it makes you cringe at times. People probably think you've got slight issues with guiness, wouldn't be so bad if it was Iron Bru WKD's or something. Ummm, could drink one now, how bad is that?? Must be the weather.
