Does anyone know what BT are like if you cancel a dd?

Just thinking I could cancel that dd for Friday the 1st and then call them on Monday the 4th and pay it by card? Then re-set up the dd for the next bill in 3 months when they're gonna start billing monthly and by the time my credit goes on will be nil and then no more than £11 odd a month???

    Thanks in advance. xx

Cancel it - then ring them up straight away, and say you were cancelling some old DDs and have cancelled this one by mistake........but you are concerned that you will now miss this months payment, so can you pay it by card, except your card is at home and you are at work so can you ring up on Monday........but you are worried about being charged a late fee, so because it was all done in error, can they please confirm that you won't be penalised........?

Even if you set up a new DD over the phone there and then, it won't go through until your next payment is due because of the 14 day set up period or whatever.....

Oh ok, cool, just seems a lot easier to cancel the unexpectedly huge BT bill than both water. I just didn't want any late payment fees but if I do it like you say hopefully I wont get any...

God I cannot wait to be debt free, life will be so much easier.#

    Thanks Hypno.

    Right,

    So today I have:

    1) Scrubbed the kitchen. (and I mean SCRUBBED).

    2) Done my other normal housework stuff.

    3) Posted some eBay parcels.

    4) Played with LO loads and loads. :rotfl::rotfl:

    5) Rung round a few taxi companies to find out how much it's gonna cost me to get to my manual handling tomorrow....will now need to cash up the shrapnel in my savings jar cos I just dont have the spare cash to pay for the taxi and extra childcare.

    6) Done ten minutes of kickboxing...aim to do another ten later??? :j

    7) Sorted out all the drawers in the kitchen and front room dresser...does stuff breed once it gets inside drawers or what??

    8) Tidied box file and hunted out new one that was never used...will spend half an hour fine tuning my filing system soon....

Haven't managed any work cos went to log on and system is down, have spoken to boss, he will try and get it up and running for tomorrow....fingers crossed...my overtime is disappearing as we speak.

Oh well, I think I've done enough, I am cream crackered, off to chill for a bit and see if I get a second wind...

Ooooh, by the way my lil princess came out of school today with a letter addressed to the tooth fairy...she has lost her first tooth. She was soooo excited bless her. She's playing at a friends now but will celebrate with her when she's home. :T:T

  • Wow.. and I thought I was doing good today!
Awww, that's sweet. Make sure she doesn't lose anymore though, Tooth Fairy visits cost money!!
When me and my LO were at the park earlier he ended up getting himself whacked in the face by a 'naughty' swing, he split his lip and was bleeding. He spent 10mins pointing at something white on the floor thinking his tooth had fell out. Wasn't til i told him to touch his teeth and he see they were all there that he even noticed his lip was 'broken'. Kids are very weird sometimes.

I know, I've been slightly concerned about inflation since I spoke to my mum earlier and she reminded me that they used to put £1 under my pillow for a tooth. Now I'm 26 so that must have been around 20 years ago, imagine what I should put under now??

maybe I should just put the old Capital One under there and let her help herself until they've all come out!!!

Bless your poor LO, they are so funny, I'm very good at distracting mine, it's amazing how much they don't notice if occupied with something else, thank god he didn't lose a tooth though, he's a bit small yet.

Any luck with the job hunting yet?

  • Getting nowhere 2nd job wise BUT I am now regularly doing an extra night at my current job, I only need a few more hours to tip me back above 16hours so any little job will do, now even considering cleaning just to get me back above 16hrs!!

Wonder if anywhere would actually accept a child using a credit card, don't think she'd get too far!

You've not been to my local shop lol.

I'm sure you'll get something soon, my ex BIL is coming back now so I've been job hunting for him, he worked with kids with learning difficulties and did youth work before he moved to the US so he wants to do that again, there really isn't much though.

When my eldest was small I started doing care work (obviously I was driving then which I know you're not), I thought I'd hate it and would be unable to deal with the personal care side of things but it turned out to be the best job I've ever had, I love it. I'm tied to my current job but always do care work when things are tight and miss it when I can't do it due to childcare and stuff.

Anyhoo, the moral of my story is...you might end up doing something you don't wanna do but find you really enjoy it.

  • On the driving thing, had a lesson this morning and my instructor is still banging on about how i need to book my test, he thinks I should aim for the start of June given that hes going away for 2weeks in May so I wont be having 'proper' lessons then. If/when I do pass I have a lovely friend whos offered to insure me on his car so long as I contribute 25% to the total expense of the car plus petrol I use. Since he rarely drives it would pretty much work out as 75% of a car for 25% of the cost. He works 10mins away from home and only really has it for taking his kids on days out or to see family outside of town so when I've past I'll have access to transport for work and no more taxis after working til 4am! I've now taken to (when I absolutely definately have to get a taxi) getting out when it gets to £6 (sometimes at home, sometimes not quite) or telling the driver, once were nearly there that I only have £5 and a bit or whatever and they nearly always take me the whole way for whatever i've offered them. I'm trying to save money ANYWAY possible lol

    xXx
