ecoed, if you ever went to school for at least a couple of years, you would have learnt basic maths.... if an electrical item uses 500 watts for 1 hour you will have used half a kilowatt ....half a unit of electricity... around 5p. your idea of labelling would be....A 3 kW heater will cost you 3 units per hour about 30p to run....Now if your room needs 3kw...to heat it and keep you warm...then it needs 3 kW....buying an alternative heater that only costs you 15p per hour....AIN'T GONNA DO IT.....is it?There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

very roughly, dodger but without looking. yes but only by about 80 watts but then your probably gonna leave it on for an extra hour or so ..... so err probably not.
thanks for the answer Albyota, I'm miffed now, I kinda thought it would make a bigger difference then 80 watts. and yer right, I woulda left it on longer thinking I was making a great saving. the old crt can stay a bit longer.;)0 -
Tsk Tsk... all this just 'cos ecoed went and bought himself the wrong laptop.
Ever heard of Google?
I knew my laptop had a 2w processor and pulls 28w before I bought it. I also knew it had a 12v psu so can be run directly from any 12vDC source - So no energy sucking inverter to energy sucking AC/DC Adapter required.
The first time I saw the box was when the courier delivered it, so fat lot of use a new energy label would have been.

good point Steve, lets hope eco's battery lasts long enough for him to check out the internet and select a replacement lappy.0

In our own little ways..as we can afford it, when our appliance need replacing, we Moneysavingexperts will naturally be buying energy saving stuff, but at the end of the day it comes down to money...just because an item may save one tonne of Co2 emmissions per year but costs £300.... I would buy the...one and a quarter tonne equivalent at £250 if all else were equal....sorry but thats the way it is....yo Dude hahaha Lol....Man...peace & love.....now.... where did I put me joint? There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!
