Hi,
I made lemon drizzle cake this afternoon in a loaf tin. Only I forgot to put greaseproof paper in before I put the cake mix in the tin, having seen the silicon liner and thought 'excellent, don't need to grease the tin'.:o
Can anyone 'show' me how to get the cakes out of the tin without damaging them?
Thanks,
Di x0 -
If the cake won't come up then slide a flat bladed knife between the cake and the side of the tin..move carefully around the cake, that should loosen it from the sides and then turn cake upside down over a plate or wire tray and bang the bottom of the cake tin. It should come out then.0
-
Yep I'd go round it with a knife too... and if the banging doesn't work, try a fish slice down one of the ends to get underneath it. Hope you manage to save it.
P.S. Despite getting hubby to grease and flour the tins yesterday, my brownies stuck fast to the tin so I had to use this approach! I cut the brownies into squares whilst still in the tin in order to make it easier to get them out.0 -
Oooh please could I have your recipe for the lemon drizzle cake?
My Mum used to make a Lemon Butter Cake which was extremely yummy and I was wondering if it's a similar recipe. I'll have to grab the recipe off my sister as I know she has a copy and I'll share that too!
Thank you!0 -

planning to make Delia's lemon drizzle cake to take into work this Friday. I have bottled lemon juice in the house (the type you put on your pancakes on Shrove Tuesday). Can i use this instead of fresh lemon juice without compromising on flavour?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

Quick question, can I make a lemon cake with only lemon juice?
I want to do a quick cake for this evening but don't really want to spend money on a lemon unnecessarily!
I have everything else - flour, eggs, sugar, lemon juice etc.
Thanks!!Weight 21/08/12 - 11st 4lb  Target of 10st....

make a drizzle with lemon juice and granulated sugar to spoon on top while it's warm so it soaks through and gives the sponge lots of lemony moistness.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500
