I think it's worth pointing out that with new IHG promotions, especially "Stay twice, get one night free", Friends and Family isn't always the cheapest any more. Usually Leisure Saver rate will be almost the same price, plus you get a bottle of free wine until 7th June and it includes the free night - F&F rates don't count as "qualifying" unfortunately.

As for whether Obukit is risking his job with his local employer is really for him to decided, although having read thru the 9 pages it seems that officials from MSE have had most of the discounts confirmed by ICH group.

Thank you all for your concern but I'm not employed by IHG as I work at a franchised hotel so they have no impact on the security of my job, or otherwise.

All the rates I offer are publically available or have been checked with IHG - so there's no risk in booking them, as I would never post a rate where there was a chance your reservation could be cancelled or amended.

Well I for one would've voted earlier for Kit to be placed in charge of IHG Sales & Marketing worldwide.

However, after this week, I think I'd rather have him in post now as Prime Minister.

PS: apparently the Friends & Family promotion isn't new at all.

Our MPs have been operating it for years -- under which you don't merely get discounted hotel accommodation, but, er, entire houses on the cheap.
