    Hi,

Sorry, IHG have just hidden the Two-for-one promo but it is still available. New link: -

Hi Obukit, I want to stay at Manchester Crowne Plaza airport before I fly out. Will be me, wife and daughter (age 7) - will I have to book 2 rooms? I think you mentioned before that some let you stay with your child? Do you think it's worth trying?

I have been using the 2-4-1 exclusive link for about 2 years (just used it twice last week), and my bookmark now takes me to the prepaid A link. You say 2-4-1 is hidden, but it has never been an option when I go straight to ICH. How are you suppose to find it if you don't know about it? My previous link always worked, the dates just changed for booking periods. Thanks for posting new link!!!
    Hi,

The key to finding rates is to look for the 5-letter rate code, as this never changes. The easiest way to find this is to look in the web address, e.g. where it says ...ratecode=IDEX1...

It's not amazingly user-friendly but if you're bookmarking links just put it in the bookmark name so if they move the link you can find it later by Googling the rate code. Hope that helps :).

    Hi,

Most hotels will either have sofa beds in the rooms free of charge, or will provide an extra bed either free of charge or for a small supplement. The best thing to do is to contact the hotel directly to ask.

    Good luck getting it sorted.
  • Hi Obukit. Last time we stayed at the holiday inn our package didn't include breakfast which worked out expensive. On our last morning reception gave us some vouchers for breakfast. Are these readily available at all hotels? Thanks

we have just returned from a 3 for 2 nights offer at the Holiday Inn, in Hemel Hemstead
after checking on here we where advised to ask at reception about breakfast rates etc

end result, if pre booked at reception it work out at £9.50 per adult &kids eat free, once paid you where given a voucher
if you just turn up for breakfast it was £14.95 (not sure if kids would still eat free)

    hope this helps

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Obukit
Could I ask for a bit of advice.

I wanted to book a night in London 2nd May with my points. However every single central London hotel has a blackout for being able to use points even though they all have plenty of rooms.

Priority club states no black out dates for redeeming points!

Also I don't suppose you know what the platinum card customer service number is? I used to call on a 0800 number but I can't find the dedicated number to call and ask them about it.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi,

An international freephone number for PC member services is 00800 22223132, which is free of charge from landlines.

With reward nights, there are no blackout dates but each hotel only has to sell 5% of it's rooms as reward nights. This is there because otherwise the most leisure popular hotels, e.g. capital cities, Cambridge, Oxford, would have a disproportionate number of rooms as reward nights, which attract much less revenue than a normal room.

I'm afraid if they're showing as full there may not be much you can do about it - for popular hotels it's always advisable to tentatively book as far in advance as possible, as you can always cancel a reward night if you don't need it.

Please be sure you do cancel if you don't need it, though, as be aware that if you no-show for a reward night reservation your points will be refunded but you will be charged full price to your credit card instead!

Great advice -- wow, those full-price HI breakfasts though: £30 for two? D'you get to keep the table linen as a souvenir?

On the subject of hotel breakfast advance bookings: we've just returned from a stay in a Premier Inn and when booking on-line were asked if we'd like to opt for the "Breakfast Plan": £7.95p each.

We did. And on arrival at the hotel, discovered that by booking the "Breakfast Plan" in advance, we'd saved. . . nothing at all. It's £7.95p whether pre-booked or walk-in.

As to the value though: is Premier Inn trying to win some kind of competition for Britain's best hotel breakfast?? The all-you-can-eat buffet was, well, staggering -- so much so, we never bothered with lunch and managed no more than cheese & biscuits for dinner when we got home.

Hugely recommended but don't worry about an advance booking discount. . . because there ain't one. :)

There are good rates available for UK properties by calling the call centre and asking for the teletext rates.

You can see the text pages here...

    http://www.teletextholidays.co.uk/TV/UK_major_brands/Holiday%20Inn%20_and_%20Crowne%20Plaza/ITV-CRY_250/print.aspx

The ads say you can phone for the rates or book online. BUT if you book online there is no link to get these rates.

Does anyone know the rate code so that I can add it into my online booking?

    Thanks

    hello!!

I made a couple of posts a few weeks ago and was planning to book going through the friends and family link. Just been reading few the past couple of pages and a little confused.

Has IHG gave MSE members authorised to use the name of: Anthony Bainbridge to get reduced rate until May 31st?
if so i take it theres no max number of people that can take advantage of this?
Or is Anthony Bainbridge work for IHG and also a MSE?

I have read through the past posts and apogise if questions have been asked but just need to make sure as theres no way i could pay anymore money on arrival.

    thanks.

Help! Ive just booked the 2 for 1 offer with Holiday Inn, and on the reservation it said £62 (one night free)
Just checked my online banking and theyve taken £124 out!
Ive emailed them and hoping for a refund! Anyone else had this happen?

Yippee! Just contacted hotel direct and the payment has gone back in my account!
