MSD, here's the SC rice pud recipe I use. Very easy!
1oz butter/marge
1.75 pints milk (the recipe says 1.5 milk + 0.25 pints evaporated, but I use all 'normal' milk myself!)
4oz short grain pudding rice
2oz sugar
Few drops vanilla essence
Optional - grated rind & juice of an orange
Butter inside of SC & preheat on High
Place all ingredients into SC & mix well
Turn to Low and cook for 6 to 8 hours.
I stir it every couple of hours, although the recipe doesn't say this. I also tend to add half a tsp of mixed spice and/or a few gratings of nutmeg - if I remember!

NoahsPennilessMummy - hugs. I joke about my mischievous little bear but I cannot imagine how you cope.
Csarina - brilliant news!
Little bear has unplugged the monitor again but the batteries didn't run out until after he had gone to sleep so I am sitting here, poised to leap (well, stagger) into action and the first hint he needs his mum. No OS. And when he does come down I won't dare turn my back on him for a second! I need some new strategies.
Candygirl - long time no read - how are you? Apart from the hair which sounds pretty serious to me! My Great Grandmother went into a department store at the age of 90 and demanded a coat that would last at least ten years! I hope you survive the trip.
Celyn - please keep us updated on the voodoo!

WS thanks for the hugs......am sure life with LB is very stressful at times too:eek: .
I am off to the GP on Weds for review of my happy pills...have been on them since DS was about 2 and a half....it seems I had post natal depression but I just thought being tired and weepy was part of new motherhood and got on with it....it gradually got worse and came to a head when he was diagnosed and then me and DH got divorced and my life seemed to explode....the happy pills did the trick and havenot been able to get off them since:rolleyes:
I feel at the moment like it is all taking hold again but maybe it is just life events which the pills cannot help.
I hope you have some luck with yours soon....I really relate to what you say sometimes about being too scared to go out to groups with LB etc as I too have been there and it isnt nice...I remember forcing myself to take DS out to a different group everyday and having panic attacks outside before I went in....I used to berate myself for being so pathetic and wondered how it had come to this...I was rather hard on myself( and still am)0 -
Only one load of washing on the line and made DH a cooked breakfast as a treat.
Italian loaf has just come out of the Panny and just about to make a double lot of pizza dough as DD(15) is bringing two friends back at tea time so will make at least two different pizzas and some garlic bread. One friend is a vegetarian and the other won't eat cheese (or they are both veggies - not sure) so will have to cobble something together.

Well done on the house!!!:j I find that a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% hot water in a spray does wonders on glass and pvc, especially if you use a microfibre cloth.
Chrisca
Fingers crossed for your GD.
DH has put away the dish I want to use to make a special dessert and is denying all knowledge!!!! Grh!!!!
Just going to get some fresh veg before DD gets home.

Afternoon all!!!
Just a quickie as I have to get back to the ironing mountain.
I managed a little batch cooking this morning. So I have bolognaise, chilli and chicken curry for the freezer. Also did a batch of scones but I doubt they will make it to the freezer.
The washing basket is empty and I am determined to get this blasted ironing out of the way.
Tea will be smoked salmon quiche and salad.
Hugs to Noahspennilessmummy. xxx
Beth, I agree, you are a wonderwoman. :T
I also agree with Looby_Lou re the issue of children and boredom. I really found that I had to get mine out as often as possible as they became bored at home and the more bored they became, the naughtier they became. A brisk walk always refreshed us all. It was easier to get on with housework and let them watch TV but it was always worth it when I took them out as they were like different children when we got home.
Well done on the house move carina.
Hope you get the news you want re the job moggins. x
Bye for now.

Good afternoon all!
Hugs to all in need, going to read back in a mo with a coffee and a biscuit!
All was going well here yesterday until after my charity meeting in the evening, dd2 had arrived home safely and had a great time on her trip, the other kids were fine, a friend dropped by for a coffee, then everything seemed to go somewhat pear shaped, so not a great night! Anyway, woke up to lovely sunshine, so I have decided to wear a mood to match!
OS today I have walked the dog, hoovered, mopped, S&S, filled the bm and wm, and eaten leftover cauli cheese for my lunch.
Kids have ciabatta rolls with cheese and salad, orange, apple and fruit buns for their lunches.
Dinner tonight will be pizza, as dd1 is making it at school today - have made a couple of extras and will do some wedges using yesterday's left over baked pots.
I popped into Asda this morning to grab a couple of HSM t-shirts as bday pressies for dd3's friends' parties tomorrow and Saturday, somehow a Scooby Doo dvd, some minstrels and some onion bhajees jumped into my hands! I shall enjoy all 3! Then I went into Pets @ Home to get a new water bottle for the hamster, and saw two lovely ickle fluffy bunnies - rescue ones from the RSPCA, they are called Chad and Troy, and as you can probably guess I came home with them! They are now safely ensconced in dd3's room in a big cage and will be her birthday pressie!
Going to have a read back now, have a lovely day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Noahspennilessmummy - you at least got your little one out. To me you sound like a caring and loving mum. Now, the lurgy was genuine this week, but I know next week I will once again be a wreck trying to get him out.
However I am getting better. Today little bear came with me to the doctors. Last summer I couldn't have managed that, even though I can see the doctors from my window, so that is something. And as it warms up it will be easier to get him out. If we had a bit of safe garden it would be easier, but chasing him round and keeping a close eye on him will do neither of us any harm.
Next I need to get him into town, as I think he has finally had the growth spurt that needs new shoes. Watch this space!
I am still waiting for him to wake up - I shall have to make up for this later but at the moment I think I shall just revel in this quiet time!
