Morning all
They arrive today  :eek:
I left the house in a "well they are your parents and it's your blasted mess, so you sort it out" sort of mood.
I will be late anyway again as I'm doing an experiment in the psychology department this afternoon (I don't mind being a guinea pig as they are alwaya short of people.).
Managed to catch my sort-of-boss and it was quite a useful chat. he wants me to write a summary of my PhD and a couple of pages about my research intrests then come back to him. Which would be fine, except I don't really have any specfic ones  I have a week to do this. My actual-on-paper boss wants to give me some synthesis to do as well, which is fine, but I don't think the target is going to be trivial. Ah well, another lab move. I must be the only person that has four desks in this place. And they want to send me to the medical school next week. I angled for this week but my actual boss remember that the outlaws are going to be here so kindly offered next week despite me trying to convince him [strike]pleading[/strike] it would be fine *sigh*
Ocodo delivery arrived last night -meat is a bit short dated, but everything else was fine. I had beetroot and stilton salad for tea - OH had been out with one of his friends, so didn't need feeding (or so you'd think).
I was going to make cake, but no time.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

A lovely sunny morning here!
Clarebelle - (((hugs))) to your DH (and you) hope you dont catch it next! x
2 days off now!:j
we bought DS1 a new car yesterday so today he's cleaning out the old one ready for the scrap yard(it will be sad to see it go as it was my Dad's car originally) - strange how he managed to get up when its in his best interests isn't it:rolleyes: he's also off on Saturday with my Mum for a week in Cornwall stopping at Mousehole as company for her.
Am making quorn cottage pie for my tea, the others have traditional cottage pie from the freezer.
(((hugs))) to all in need.
Have a great day all, take care xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Trazy - welcome to the wonderful world of OS where stockpiles grow... It is such a good feeling to know you are 'safe' and are not going to run out.
Hester - BOW doesn't need a supervisor, she needs a keeper!
Mudgekin - little bear started this morning playing quietly while scraped the energy together to drag myself out of bed. Well, that is what it sounded like. Actually he woke up and started taking the back up batteries out of the monitor.
MSD - you and Tristan are in my thoughts and prayers
Chrisca - hope things are getting better for your little one.
I feel grumpy and achy and thoroughly fed up - nothing more than a cold but I am not happy. Dragging myself and little bear to the drs to get more happy pills. I almost feel too poorly to go to the drs.
Ordered some plants for the garden yesterday. Last year I did quite well with tomatoes and little bear loved them. I bought some seeds from ebay as well, which fingers crossed I can grow as I don't have a greenhouse or (honestly!) a proper windowsill. Also I have bought some cress to grow with little bear. I am very bad with plants - darling father confiscated the last of my house plants - but dear heart is worse. I may have to go onto the greenfingered board - are they nice on there?

Don't be too much in awe of me Sybil. I'm just an ordinary girl, not got what you would ever call a solo voice, just a very plain voice with a reasonable quality to it, but that's perfect for singing in a group like the one I belong to.
I've struggled with stuff too. A month ago I was a real wreck, and wouldn't have been able to cope with what I'm about to do. Sunlight, medication and the support of friends, family and colleagues have helped me so much. I'm extremely nervous, but excited never the less."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning all,
:grouphug: to those that need them this morning.
Well, we haven't had any snow just a light frost, thank god.
Will be moving DD bedroom furniture so we can try and get her bedroom sorted. needs to get a stairgate for her bedroom door and then change her cotbed into a bed for her. Not sure how she going to take that but will be better for her. She is 3 and only been putting off getting her into a bed until we get a new stairgate because otherwise she will be able to get out of her room. as she wakes @6am some days not possible for me to be up same time as her all the time:rolleyes:
Anyway, I had ago at making egg custard last night...turned out ok but for some unknown reason the custard didn't thinken before I put in case so took an hour in the oven:o . It was nice but will take note for next time.
Hoping to take kids for a walk later..just hope the weather holds.
Hope you all have a good day x x:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11:smileyhea

Morning All,
I think my interview went well yesterday. Was quite nerve wracking but hopefully I got in .I managed to answer all the questions and was just my usual cheeful self. I have to wait 4 weeks now to hear:eek: Although the Home Ec lady laughed when I said I owned and used a sewing machine at age 26. I wasn't impressed!I think she was in shock.
OS today is star dropping flat and hoover around tonight. Tea will be gammon steak and mash. Lunch is a sandwich. Wild times.

'Morning All!
MSD, here's the SC rice pud recipe I use. Very easy!
1oz butter/marge
1.75 pints milk (the recipe says 1.5 milk + 0.25 pints evaporated, but I use all 'normal' milk myself!)
4oz short grain pudding rice
2oz sugar
Few drops vanilla essence
Optional - grated rind & juice of an orange
Butter inside of SC & preheat on High
Place all ingredients into SC & mix well
Turn to Low and cook for 6 to 8 hours.
I stir it every couple of hours, although the recipe doesn't say this. I also tend to add half a tsp of mixed spice and/or a few gratings of nutmeg - if I remember!
I tried it with the orange, but DH & the SK's didn't like it as much, so I don't bother with it now. Not sure how it would turn out with Basmati or other rice - if you try it please let us know, as pudding rice has shot up in price out of all proportion just now!
Good news - I have my car back on the road after my lovely friend fixed the brakes last nite (in all that horrible cold damp weather too) - he is just a total star! It started first time too - after 2 weeks of standing on the drive in all winds & weathers.
Very tired today - had a lazy evening but didn't sleep too well - bad & disturbing dreams again. Am booked & paid for Active Stretch Class tonite, so I HAVE to go and NOT make any excuses to miss it this week, but after a few upbeat days I feel like a crash is coming again.
Moggins - make sure you get something to eat girl!
(((HUGS))) to everyone, and special wishes to those stressed, ill and worried.
