How did you change your details? Did you phone them? I tried to change mine but when I did it just kept saying that there was a problem with the information - you know, like invalid card number or whatever. I couldn't seem to do anything?

i had an e-mail last week thanking me for my order for £180. i came across this forum as a search from the delivery address, John Lewis, 1025a Romford Road, London, E12 5LH
in all fairness play.com were helpful when i called them, the money went out my account & they have subsequently refunded me. they stopped the order, as they saw it as strange for my profile (what if i was buying presents for someone?) & cancelled my account. i feel violated. my bank cancelled my card & suggested i call the police. it was them that were unhelpfull, saying that their procedures have changed & they will only take action if the bank lose out on cash & they report their loss to the police. eh, like this is fraud, whether its a bank or a personal issue, its still amounts to the same. i use play a lot & this is the first & hopefully only issue I have had, but going from the other posts, maybe the last time I use them! thanks for all the info from other posts! i have changed my card # to one as shown in a previous post.0 -
I've had an account since 2001 with Play. Isn't it only over the last year or so that they've stored CC details?
Nothing untowards in my account, but I have changed the CC number to one of the PayPal dummies.Dave. :wave:0 -

Myself and two other members of my family changed their credit card details to one of those test credit cards from PayPal. Today I got an email from Play saying:
"Thank you for your recent order with Play.com
At this time we are unable to process your order as your credit/debit card details do not match the details held by your card issuer.
To proceed with your order please check and amend the following:
Card number
Expiry date
Valid from date
Issue number
CV2 (3 digit code on the signature line of your credit card)
For PlayTrade item(s) your order could not be reserved and has been cancelled. If you would still like to purchase this item please resubmit your order following any amendments you have made.
For Play.com item(s) it is not necessary to re-submit your order. Your outstanding item(s) will be shipped as soon as we can process the payment."
Did anyone else get this email if you changed your credit card details to one of the test cards?
The other two members of my family didn't get the above email and they used the same test credit card.0 -

I've just stuck a made-up CC number and CV2 into my account and it's accepted them without question.0

Thanks. I wondered if it was just because I changed the card details or whether someone had tried to put through an order and Play tried to use the test credit card details.0
