Thanks to the OP, I have changed my details at Play now, strange that a customer cannot just delete them, I will not use Play again.

Obviously Play don't give a stuff about their customers.

if you want to close an account with play its so simple all youve got to do is call them and they will close it for you:o

But a customer should not have their card details stored without the customers knowledge or consent, also they should be able to delete any stored information/close an account without the need to telephone Play.

    Bad Play.

    This happened to me today!

Police didnt want to know, play closed my account, bank will refund the charge but play.com said they cant stop the item going out because it was already in the packaging stage!

This gentleman in Northampton who somehow accessed my account has seemingly got away with it!

    Im seriously p*ss*d off!

So what has there been - 10 people on this forum alone that have had fraudulent activity? I am guessing no cases have been bought by the police/play against people doing it (despite having delivery addresses before the goods are delivered) - I had £140 worth of games ordered - so multiply by the 10 users on here, £1400 - so whoever is doing it is onto a winner really as there doesnt seem to be anything the police/play/banks etc are willing to do.... And they say crime doesnt pay?

Thank you for this post .... just gone into play and put in false details, it even accepted a false/made up card no. This has really put me off storing any card details.

You would think they could stop the parcels before they are posted that are in the 'packing' stage!!!

My bank HSBC are now saying they have to investigate the matter before giving me my refund as ive used play.com alot before this happened and they need to know it isnt me trying to con them!

Fair enough but HSBC are saying it can take up to about 10 weeks to get the refund!

10 weeks! How easy is it to make a phone call to play.com and ask them and make a couple of enquirires? I have bills to pay and i bet HSBC will be right there the minute I go into an unauthorised overdraft to charge me for it!

Call Northampton Police, seriously. They ARE investigating, they told us they have complaints dotted around the Country all from this same flogbag.

Anybody else, if you have been scammed by this Joker in Northampton you must give Northampton Police a ring.

  • I use to buy a lot of dvds from Play.com, but now I don't shop there at all. Two years ago i had two fraudulent transactions on my card to T-Mobile, not sure how they got my details, but i suspect someone got it from my Play.com cos i bought dvds that week too.

And last year I bought a psp game from them, and on the same day a fraudulent transaction was made to a hotel, considering my new card has only been used on play.com its got to be someone there abusing the system.

So now i've lost all confidence in online shopping and I only use Paypal, though even using that, i'm still very worried. I check my online bank and card statements everyday now.
