Also recieved Direct Debit letter today, but it mentions a £1 cheque.

They don't want another £1 chequedo they, as sent one off with the initial application, or are they just trying to confuse me?

Just read through it again and no, you don't need to send in another cheque.

Got a letter saying I needed to send an original utility bill for the ID thing.

Obviously they don't accept telephone bills as a utility .

I opened my account on 4th march and am pretty sure it was before 11.30. As they closed the loophole before my cheque was in the post does that mean they don't have to pay out the £20?
I was so looking forward to putting it towards a house deposit! (Every little helps an all that! :p)

I received my DD guarantee form yesterday and my 'welcome pack' today, so my account is now live. I logged in no problem and cheque is showing up but not yet cleared. 10 days to open the account doesn't seem too bad to me, especially when considering the influx of new applications they must be dealing with at the moment. :)

November £10 a day challenge. Im starting early- 66p so far!
  • I Signed up on the 4th of March, about 10:30.

I received a confirmation email, sent a cheque for £5 which was cashed last week, and today my Welcome pack arrived.

I had been sent no email confirming the free £20, and there was no mention of it in the welcome pack either, so I just have them a ring and they confirmed that I am elidgeable and the money should be credited within the next 6 weeks. He said he couldn't confirm weather I will receive written confirmation or not, but that I'd denfinately get the free £20.

So (fingers crossed) it looks like weather or not you get an email confirming the free £20 or not, as long as you applied before they closed the offer you should get your free £20.
