I'm beginning to have my doubts about this. Nothing heard from ING and it is now a week nearly. Cheque still not cleared.
All appears to be well - I received this email overnight . . . .
Thanks for your recent application to open an ING Direct Savings Account, you’re already well on your way to making saving feel better. If you haven’t already, please remember to send us your account opening cheque by 31 March 2009 to enable us to complete your account opening.
Once your account is fully up and running, we’ll put £20† in your account as a special welcome to ING Direct. Feels good doesn’t it? And it could soon feel even better…
Lower down it says
In order to receive the £20 cash gift, your account must be opened and funded before 31/03/09. The cash gift will be credited into your account within 28 days of your welcome pack being issued. One promotional offer permitted on first account opened (single or joint). Cash gift to the value of £20 only. Must be UK resident aged 18+. Calls may be monitored or recorded. †20 great reasons to join ING Direct refers to the £20 cash gift.0 -

Ah ok! Sorry!, I could log onto my account yesterday, so I would expect the Welcome pack by next week.

I received the email confirming they are in the process of opening the account and that the £20 intro-bonus would be paid in as long as the account was funded by 31st March. I certainly won't be worrying about it and won't be looking for the bonus before end of April.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
