I think if you haven't sent your cheque yet due to forgetting to write down the numbers, you can just write your name / address and DOB on the back of the cheque instead? Seen it somewhere on this thread!
Thanks for the advice but I had already written it on the cheque and sent it off etc, just hadn't wrote it down anywhere else! Ah well, now to await my welcome pack I suppose!0 -

I'm beginning to have my doubts about this. Nothing heard from ING and it is now a week nearly. Cheque still not cleared.0

I wasnt sure about the numbers so I wrote my details as well and they cashed it but not heard apart from that0

I signed up just before midnight last tuesday and posted my cheque on wednesday. Money came out of my current account today, logged in to ING tonight and my initial deposit is showing as credited last friday. I intend using the account.0

I think people are getting worried a bit too quickly. The earliest you could have sent the cheque was last Wednesday. It was to a freepost address and this could either be first class or second class depending on what licence ING have. Royal Mail say that second class mail is "usually delivered within three working days after posting" so it could have taken until Saturday/Monday for it to arrive. It is now only Tuesday and I suspect they are dealing with a large volume of applications and so I don't think it is worth worrying just yet.
I sent mine Wednesday and was able to log into my account for the first time today with my cheque waiting to be cleared. They say they'll send a "Welcome pack" once they open the account so it'll now be another few days before I will be expecting something in the post from ING.0 -
