;19416599]So wonder what percentage of the 2.9 million went for the £20. Thats not including those, like me, who look at the website first thing wendesday morning.

OK, so say 10% of those who got the emails did it. Thats approx. 300,000 people x £20 for IMG = £6 million !!!! Gulp....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
That's only if everyone waits for the £20 to credit then immediately withdraws it. Many will open the account, fund it with £1 then leave it there happy that when they view the balance online they see a "balance" of £21. Others will open the account then out of either a misplaced feeling of guilt at having "scammed" the bank or a genuine desire to use the account will place further deposits into it.

I don't think it's a marketing mistake or a hack as some others have suggested. I received the offer by post last year.

My cheques have gone out of my bank account , so hopefully should have a welcome pack from ING this week, and await my £20......

I just logged in using the customer number and pin i set up and it looks like my £1 is there but waiting to clear.

I think i might actually use this account as 3% is a lot better than the 1.5% i currently get with abbey!

Does anyone know how fast it is to transfer to and from an ING savings account. If i needed my money in a hurry would i be screwed?

I am a bit confused as I thought it took 3 days for cheques to clear. I can't find the place on the site to log onto. They had to verify my ID so it might be a bit longer for me.

I applied on Tuesday night and sent my chq on Wednesday Morning.

The Chq has been presented to my Bank

I have just logged on and my Account is set up with the £1 showing.

It took me about 5 minutes to apply and about 5 minutes to write out a chq and post it.

For the benefit of peabrain and supermankelly my conscience is clear.

    Thanks Martin.

I don't think I've ever seen so many people go quite so nuts over quite so little money...
