For £19 per night - read (from) £43 per night
I am unable to find a Travelodge room in my chosen location (outside London) at less than £43 - this is in less than 2 weeks time !!
It's a con.....
You have probably just left it a bit late Twinkle. With the TL sales (full-scale or mini) the early bird catches the worm. Also, as a general rule, the room price for Tls increase in the last two weeks .

Not a con, very rare to find a TL room for £19 with less than 3 weeks to go.
I`m off today for a 5 night stay in rooms I booked for £15 in the sale last October.
Checking the price last night they ranged from £44 to £55 for this week.
If you leave it too late you pay the full rate.0 -
In February I did a Google search to see if I could find a different way of searching for Travelodge rooms and I found a website that shows all the rooms available per hotel. You could sort by date, or by price. I found that it was an easy way to book the cheapest room, only if you didn't mind when you went, of course. The site didn't look too flashy, and the results looked like they were displayed on a spreadsheet, but it did the job. Does anyone know where I might find this website, as I've lost it from my favourites :-\
From what I remember it either had a really short URL, or the URL had a strange number at the beginning of it (instead of www) - I think it had a 7 in there, but I could be wrong. I hope this request isn't too cryptic and that someone knows what I mean!
Thanks in advance for any help ^_^ x0 -
I stayed last week at the Shore View Hotel Eastbourne which was a Travelodge until recently and had booked and paid at TL prices. I was really impressed as it is being upgraded at enormous cost. The location is ideal on the seafront and one minute from the peer.
Out of the blue I have received notification of a sale from the new owners - most of the rooms are £19 for the remainder of the year including the summer months. A real bargain - here is a link:

It doesn`t look like TL are going to have a £15 for Jul, Aug,Sept.
This time last year the whole year had already been "saled".
A lot of "leisure companies" now regard J,J,A and Sept as peak months and up and hold their prices.
The attitude being, pay the price or don`t go.
School holidays don`t help either.
Just a thought.0 -

Yep, got to agree entirely. The days of the real cheapie TLS look to be gone. This deal with Shore View is excellent for the summer.
As an aside, my trip with the wife to Eastbourne last week including one night in London and two at the Shore View costed out at £90 by using advance railbookings, railcard and travelodge sale prices.
If I had left it until the day and gone on whim, the price exceeded £700!"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Yeh the summer room rate of £21 a night has just kicked in but there arent that many of them.Sorry Travelodge but most of us are skint.Where have all the £10/£12 a night sales gone.I will do without at these prices.Putting prices up is not a good idea in this financial climate. Some rooms in Edinburgh are £189 a night.Behave you are not the Ritz.As for the Shore view they have cranked their prices up accordingly so not really a bargain at £39 a night. No fear of the travelodge website crashing this time due to demand.0

Joe, check out the link. Still loads at Shore View at £19. The early bird.......
Regards Edinburgh. They have the Festival and Fringe during the prime time. Obviously they will not reduce these.
but look at other times......loads at £21 or £22. Regardless of "financial climate" £21 for three adults or 2 adults and two children is still superb value. Try getting a camp-site for less!"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Taking kids out of school is now a definite no-no as we had a letter the other day saying fines will be administered to any parent who takes kids on holiday during term time unless in extreme circumstances,so that just about blows us out the water as the £21 a night rooms are usually during schooltime.Must admit ive just found The Haymarket Edinburgh has a room for 4 nts at £23 a night so that is excellent.I also have a family railcard but train prices have also gone up and the bargains are much harder to find. You are right of course that they are still a bargain, but as with cheap flights, once you have had them you want to see more of the same, not increases.Get your point as per camp sites.Rather be in a hotel anyday.Cheers.0

Still think Travelodge have shot themselves in the foot regarding increasing prices. When we have had rooms for 9,10.12 and 15 quid a night and now they are wanting 30-£40 a night, people just havent got that sort of money and will stay away especially as the weather is hardly brilliant.Just stayed at the Hartlepool Marina hotel got it for £15 in the last sale, brilliant but the cheapest room now is double that a night so we will go for daytrips instead when we know the weather is ok.0
