Hope I'min the correct place. I've just been sorting out my statements etc. My cashback bonus from Morgan Stanley is usually due 26/1. Received statement this morning and the cashback award is still on info page. Rang Morgan Stanley because you now have to request it but and this is a big but ......you can only request it in multiples of £15.00. I am not happy about this because to get exactly £45 or £60 is nigh on impossible and they will not put the residue (ie my cashback is £47.27) against any balance.

HAs anyone else noticed this or has any ideas other than swapping cards?

It is annoying, but I guess to be fair, it was pointed out fairly clearly in the scheme rules.

Hi, I'm on MINT and went to them because of cashback deal, which was 1% i think. It stopped showing cashback online last year, and i randomly got a payment not too long after from cashback, and I rang them and they said it was still going.

Does anyone know if this is still running?
  • Hi all,

I just read an interesting blog post here:

This chap seems to be paying his GE Money credit card bill with his Morgan Stanley credit card - thus getting 3% cashback and then another 1% cashback.

Anyone else tried this and been successful?

My first thought would be that this would be classed as a cash advance and would therefore attract very high rates of interest straight away.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable in these matters could give a definate answer...

thank you for your reply prudryden, maybe they have changed the scheme rules because I used to get the full amount of cashback each Jan. I don't suppose it matters really because I can just cash back throughout the year. It was just at the time I was a bit put out because I it was my money.

Anyway off to play in the snow.....yipppeeeeeeeee

Had the same thing myself, when I phoned to ask for my cashback to be credited they pointed out it was in multiples of £15 (seems an odd number to choose, why not £5 or £10....I think I know the answer to that to be honest).

I guess it's a matter of keeping an eye on your cashback balance online and everytime it gets to £15 get it credited to your account.

It's a shame that there isn't an online facility for requesting your cashback rather than having to call them.

    :D

Sounds unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Guess you would have to try it to be able to confirm it - however, might get burned by cash advance charges to find out.
  • I have been using a citibank credit card for about 2 years now and have always recieved 1% cashback. The citibank website now quotes 0.5% cashback - however I have just received an email from citibank confirming the cashback is still 1%. Not sure if it is ending soon or the 0.5% applies to "New customers only".

Anyone else with citibank not getting 1% cashback?
