Normal cashback (outside) is 1point/£2 i.e. 0.5%
For the first 6 months (outside) it is 2points/£2 i.e. 1%
:think:
Well write to Debenhams then as the section above is copied from their website, if you havent the intelligence to understand simple English that doesnt entitle you to have a go at my post which i felt was relevant to this thread.
All you have done is probably confused many many people on this forum.
Well Done !!!!0 -
Yes, your post was relevant. And everything is OK with my English and my maths. I am not sure about yours. For me and everybody here it is absolutely clear that this card pays 1%/1% cashback during first 6 months and 1%/0.5% thereafter. It was you who tried to 'confuse many people on this forum' by:
- failing to mention 6 months in your first post;
- claiming that initial cashback is 2%;
- claiming that initial 2% are available everywhere.
Full stop. This is scientific fact. 'Well write to Debenhams' and ask whether 2points/£2=2% :rolleyes: . I think they will have a lot of fun.
P.S. I did make a mistake in my prevous post by admitting that initial cashback is 2% in Debenhams stores. It is 1% in fact.0 -
We had an Amex platinum card for two years and set up a Direct Debit to "Pay the monthly balance IN FULL". If this is not stated then only the minimum amount is taken. In the second year we found it difficult to spend the required amount in the year so cancelled the card and took up a GE Credit Card. We get 3% on food and petrol which are our biggest outgoings. The maximum spend for this discount per year is £5,000.
I don't see this card mentioned in the article -Jesus loves you:j Everybody else thinks you're an idiot:rolleyes:0 -
I have had a Marbles card for a number of yearts and since it is always paid off I have been getting cash back.
My last statement included a letter to say they were discontinuing the cash back and replacing it with discounts on holidays.
Sorry but holidays are not in my remit - I prefer the cash back - so I will be moving!0 -

That sucks. Max spend of £5,000? Don't most of us money savers usually break through that mark? Apologies, but I had no idea that the GE card had a limit...0 -
I have one of the GE Money credit cards that pays 3% on Food and Fuel, and a lower amount on everything else.
I had cause to complain to them the other day and they informed me that the software wasn't working correctly at present and was paying 3% on everything purchased. This is probably why they have withdrawn the card for new applicants, but the bonus was that they stated that the extra cash back would be honoured.

Help - I've been reading all these posts with the hope that I might get a better idea of which will be the better cash back CC, in Feb 07 we will apart from the mortgage be debt free, the whopping loan will be paid, the interest free cards will be paid, so we was looking at earning some money on our monthly spending. We don't earn a great deal, but we do have a very good credit score, the latest interest free card gave us £5000 limit and we only wanted to transfer £2000. So come the spring we want to chop them all up & get the best and the one the most shops will take. Can any one recommend the best, thanks in advance for any replies.0
