IMO you'd have to check with the individual companies to see what payment methods they accept. As far as I know re road tax however, they only accept payment by debit card NOT credit card.0

Depends on what the individual companies accept.
Usually you can pay insurance by credit card but not road tax.
This year my bike insurance company wanted 2% to pay by credit card so I paid by debit card.
Most household bills - gas, phone, council tax etc. don't take credit cards, but most insurance companies do.0 -
I paid my council tax bill by credit card??
but your right about the gas, elec phone etc.
And I paid my car insurance by credit card this year aswell which is what got me thinking what other bills can i pay by CC to get the cashback0 -
I paid my council tax bill by credit card
Some councils now accept them but I don't think they all do.
I'm afraid it's a case of checking each bill individually.

Charges for using credit cards seem to be becoming more common gradually.
This year is the first time I've seen it on insurance, so obviously you have to use your judgement.0 -

A thought that went through my mind whist checking for best cash back card,as mine is at present the Alliance & Leicester.
Conran looks as though it would suit my needs.
The thought is if Conran can run a cashback card why not Moneysaving Towers? Then we could realy give the banks a run for their money.0
