I have just noticed that Asda are doing a credit card that is as martin would say mainly 'pants' but if you have one you get 2p off per litre of petrol at Asda filling stations too, which may be the real benefit of the card, as I would suggest that the 2p per litre is equivalent to at least 2% cashback. Also bearing in mind too that Asda petrol prices are locally competitive. What do you MSE’s think?

Can i transfer the £1500 to my egg from switch, and then pay the £1200 on the egg, without going over my limit, and earn the 1% thanks

    Hi All,

At the mo I use a 9.9%APR credit card for company expenses. Unfortunately the company I work for isn't the quickest and paying me back. Usually because my ex's go over the limit of my line manager, so they have to be signed by his manager..blah blah blah. Usual spend around 1k/month sometimes more

Anyway, with the card I have at the mo it pays me a tinywiny 0.2% cash back so this year I'm getting around £26, better than an kick in the crutch I hear you say, but with the Conran card offering 1% I could have earned £130. (I need it to be Visa btw)

However, because I don't always pay my balance off in full that month, usually the month after when there is more spending on there, I was wondering whether I'll still be better off swapping?

I usually DD £100 on there each month and take that from what I pay back onto my CC less any interest I've been charged (around £7)

Although the APR on the Conran card is 15.9%, but my rough calculations I think I'd pay £5/month extra on interest (£12 instead of £7) so £60pa more in interest but £100 more in cash back. So at worse I'd be £40 better off, but if my Ex's clear on time I could be £100 better off..woo hoo!

Any other ideas? or Does anyone see any planet sized flaws in my cunning plan? or should I just be happy that's I've got some money??? :-)

    Thanx

    G

  • I have just received my £188.73 cash back for my AMEX card :)

Ideal timing, as I've now got myself a Morgan Stanley card with 3% cashback for 3 months. I won't be using the amex card agan thats for sure!

Thanks Martin, thats £188.73 I would not have had if it wasn't for moneysavingexpert.com.

(I've also go my quidco.com cash back upto £950 since Jan... again, thanks).

    They have abandoned this now.
  • Does anybody know when Morgan Stanley updates it offers? They are currently offering double cashback unitl Feb 1st. I'm wondering if that will become March 1st at the start of next month.
Also, can anyone tell me how long their Morgan Stanley card took to arrive after application.
    Thanks
    ;)
  • Hi. Does anyone know how the Conran Card cashback scheme works? How are the 'shares' of the card's profits converted to cash? I'm looking to find a decent backup cashback card for my Egg Money card as the 1% cashback is only guaranteed until 2007 (it could end in January:eek: ).

Unfortunately GE appear to have stopped their 3% cashback card. I tried applying for it a long time back but got rejected. Does anyone know about any other cards permanently offering a 1% or more level of cashback? (by this I mean not having a promotional period or tiered levels of cashback, e.g. AMEX Platinum)
