You cannot get cashback on a credit card. Only a debit card. So this doesn't apply.0 -

I, like a lot of people I guess, often miss the point contained in the small print. I notice that Martin does not mention the new GE Money credit card which, as far as I can see, offers 3% cash back where the spending is on food and fuel. This is limited to £5K. Now, I make 3% of £5K £150. How come it doesn't feature in Martin's best buys for cash back cards?

Am I missing something? (All shout "Probably!"). I've got a new GE Money credit card that gives 3% cash back on spending on food and fuel. I make this £150 on a £5K spend. Martin doesn't mention this in his best buys. What's the snag?Nice to save.0

Thank you, Martin, for that. Sorry I appear to have posted the message twice. However, having only just got the GE Money card and their letter says "congratulations on being one of the first in the UK to own this card" I do wonder if you are referring to a previous GE Card the first four digits of which were 5413. The new one starts with 5206Nice to save.0

Does anyone know how the Morgan Stanley Platinum Cashback works! I have had it now for 2 months and I understood that the cashback would be 2% until October. My statements have read:
July 2006 Spend £313.54 accumulted this statement £0.26 Bonus awards £26.00 New Cashback Bonus Total £26.26.
August 2006 Spend £938.15 Previous Cashback Bonus Total £26.26 Accumulated this statement £2.86 Bonus awards £0.00 New Cashback Bonus £23.40
I am confused why the cashback was so high in July and now seems to be reducing the total!!
Any advice would be appreciated. :T :TTo Dare is To Do:beer:0 -
Morgan Stanley told me they have a problem with the IT system that calculates the cashback and my account has been under credited also. :wall:Rob0

Sadly, the credit card companies are refusing to issue cards, not because of adverse credit ratings but because some people repay the outstanding balance every month. The companies are not making enough money through this promotional gimmic, hence the refusals. They are not getting any adverse publicity (as yet) and are sitting at the top of the 'Best Buy' Tables.Rob0

I applied for a GE cashback card. (they never mentioned that it was being withdrawn!)
I have a high credit rating (I checked with Experian and obtained my credit report). Earn a good wage and have no debt other than my mortgage. I always pay off my cards in full each month. I have never missed a payment for anything in my life
I have never been refused anything in my life!
GE wont tell me why I was refused (they blamed Experian - Who I then phoned...they were not happy about the blame shifting!!)
Back to square 1 ...looking for a good cashback card...but with a fruitless additional search on my report...Experian have advised to 'leave it for a while' before applying to anyone else!
Does GE stand for 'Gross Exaggeration'? or perhaps 'Greatly Exaspirating'... I thought of a few others ...but there may be children watching!
Thanks GE Money.....for nothing.
Someone wants to be exposing them for waht they are.... cherrypickers at best.......I think! (putting it in a nice a way as possible).
I'm going to look at Amex Platinum and MSDW.I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)
