I've just done my 6th session yesterday. So far so good. After about 3 sessions I started to notice bald patches. I am doing underarms and bikini area... in a sort of a brazillian landing strip pattern (sorry if tmi lol).

My underarm hair is now all fine hair with quite a lot missing. The bikini area is very good, I imagine the following weeks will be just zapping the strays. As for pain, the bikini area is a little bit ouch. I tend to go there first because as you use it more it seems to get hotter and more painful, but it is a nanosecond and I have had no redness or soreness at all.

If you are doing the binkin area do be careful not to go too close to the ummmm lady bits because you really can't use it on the thiner skin. The undercarriage bit is the most tender when using the machine and I doubt you'd want to get too close anyway.

Overall this has been the best thing I have bought in years. I have no ingrowing hairs any more, no shaving rash and I only shave once a week before my treatment, the rest of the time I have no need to at all. Before using this I would shave daily.

I'm really pleased I jumped in and got one. I was considering salon IPL but this seems to be just as good. it may take a few extra sessions than salon treatment but it is once a week and takes me 10 minutes max.

Jap200 - the reason you shouldnt use it when your on your period is because your body is more sensitive to pain during that time, thats the only reason, not anything else.

I have salon IPL treatment, and once had a session the day before my period was due, even though you're not supposed to. It's not just that you're more sensitive to pain. Your skin is more sensitive and you're more likely to have a reaction. I ended up with a red check pattern on my legs for a day. Not an attractive look.

If you are lucky enough to have the whole £249.99, in points on your card, yes, certainly. Unfortunately, in boots you can't pay part points, part cash. It has to be the whole amount in points (24999 points) hth

I got the machine couple of weeks ago and find it sooo frustrating to use. I'm not sure if my machine if faulty or if I just use it incorrectly. I find it really difficult to get the red indicator light on. Just treated my legs (or rather tried to) and gave up after 20 minutes and about 9 shots. I just don't get the trigger button to glow. I even tried on the palm of my hand and nothing.....

I really start to think the machine if faulty. The annoying thing is that I have lost the receipt.... I suppose I need to try to return it without receipt and see what happens.

Does anyone else have this kind of difficulties with this? I've tried underarm, bikini line and legs and keep having the same issue. Today my legs were full of little dents from the sensor pins as I kept getting more and more frustrated and kept pressing harder. I've tried with more gel but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

You have to make sure all four sensors are touching the skin for the light to come on, which sometimes takes a wee bit of manouvering but I can't say I've had any problems with it. It sounds like perhaps yours is faulty. I'd suggest taking it back because it doesn't matter if you don't have a receipt seeing as its faulty. Plus the machine only launched a few months ago so they know it will still be well within its two year guarantee. I hope I'm right about this anyway!

Aliasjo, I couldn't find any money off stuff. I used some gift vouchers and felt happy enough that it's £50 off (introductory offer) until May 5th! After that it goes up in price.

    Hope this helps. ;)

Are you sure the offer is on until May 5th? Online doesn't list an end date. I just mentioned this product to hubby, and he said I could have it for my b-day! But my b-day is this week, and I really wanted to wait and see how others get on with it as I'd hate to waste that much money if it doesn't work. I told him I wanted to have a delayed b-day present so I could wait and see what others report, lol.

Thanks to everyone who is sharing how they get on! The real test will be how long the hairs really stay gone (if you've ever had laser or any other treatments like that, they will tell you nothing removes hair permanently, but some things (like laser) can remove it for a long time and then you just need a touch-up every blue moon). I'll just have to take a chance and buy one before people can report back a year after they've finished treatments, lol.

Yes, this is my worst area right now. I am so ashamed to even admit it on here :o:o:oI have a dark top lip but that doesnt bother me as much as my man hair on my chin and under chin :o:o:o:o:o I am so desperate to be rid of it :(:o

I don't know about using the Boots product on your face, but another option is laser treatments. It's pricey but you will feel it's money well spent if it works! It only works, though, if you have dark hairs on light skin.

Not all lasers are created equally, though (as the laser tech told me, and I believed her because I had tried laser a couple of times before with not great results, but the last place I tried it worked and was worth the high cost). If I went back for more lasering, I'd go to someplace with the LightSheer Diode Laser System as that worked fab. It also matters how old the laser is, as they get less effective over time (again according to the laser tech lady). If you get laser treatment, don't be afraid to quiz the salon about the laser and it's age before handing over your cash!
  • This machine sounds great, the feedback and the reviews the machine is getting, makes it sound like it is worth the outlay. I would also like to attack under my chin, Has anyone tried this yet??

OK - did my first full session on bikini line this morning - no one replied to my question last week as to why it says not to use it during a period, so I thought I had better wait to be on the safe side.

It took me a while to get the hang of it. The most difficult thing seems to be working out a pattern so that you don't keep going over the same bits, or even overlapping. Difficult in the more hard-to-reach bits in particular.

I wouldn't say that it is totally pain-free (I had it on medium), but it is in such short bursts (micro-seconds) that it's quite tolerable. I probably could go down to the 'dark' setting to make it less painful, but I suspect that I would then need to do more treatments and I want to get this over and done with.

I didn't feel any after effects at all - no need for an ice pack as suggested in the instructions, and there doesn't seem to be any redness at all.

Having talked to the sales assistant, I am tempted to try it out on my chin - even though it says not to - I'm that sort of rebel! If I do, I will let you know what happens.

It's a shame that for the huge amount of money they didn't supply some sort of case for it. I don't particularly want it out on display (to advertise my hairiness!) and it is a real fiddle to get back in the box with the polystyrene, so I have ditched that and just put it in the box in the bottom of my wardrobe.

I have a Rio system which I believe is the same technology & use it on my lip and chin. It just states not to use on eyebrows, for obvious reasons (burning your eyes out!)
