hi everyone, sorry, i've not been on here for ages! but...happy to report...GOOD THINGS, yay!! got lots of hair-free patches now, woohooo! i actually think i'm almost there too, which is awesome! The skin is soooo smooth, it's almost as though no hair was ever there in the first place! Been mainly focusing on my armpits and bikini line, and they're pretty much all clear, so i'm well happy - can just go swimming whenever i want and not have to think about it, yay! I'm gonna focus on the legs once these bits are treated i think, but i couldn't be bothered initially, as doing the whole lot in one go was a bit too time consuming... anyway, it's all good stuff!

mvsacco, got a bloke mate who's bought one and been using it for a while now, and it's all going equally as well...so as long as it's light skin/dark hair (check the suitability tool on the website) it should be A OK. good luck good luck!! xxx

    Two things:

    1. Someone on Boots thread (so sorry I can't remember who to give credit to for this info as it's quite helpful, but there are two ladies with names ending in "lass" and I don't remember which one it was!) said there will be an offer for a bank holiday weekend in May where you get 10 points for every £1 spent if you spend at least £15. I think it starts 30/4 and runs through the bank holiday Monday? If the initial offer price on this lasts until 5 May, then those wanting to buy might want to wait for the bank holiday weekend and rack up some points.

    2. The precautions listed online say don't use the product if you have thyroid problems. Does anyone have thyroid probs who is using this product? Are you getting on OK with it? I had laser treatment without problems, which seems like a similar treatment.
  • and am hopefully going to get one for my birthday in 2 weeks (before the price goes up).

I have read this forum and i must say you have all convinced me to get one! Thanks for all of the fab advice!

    :)

Does anyone else have this kind of difficulties with this? I've tried underarm, bikini line and legs and keep having the same issue. Today my legs were full of little dents from the sensor pins as I kept getting more and more frustrated and kept pressing harder. I've tried with more gel but that doesn't seem to make any difference.

Hannah, doesnt sounds like yours is working correctly. I would take it back. Also the head only needs to be placed on the gel not really pressed at all. It doesnt need to be any closer to be able to penetrate the hair. I slap on a thick layer of gel. Would rather have too much than too little and end up hurting myself.

Ive noticed aswell the more you use it the more hotter it gets and the sensation is more intense. Good idea about doing the more sensitive parts first when the machine is colder!!!

I have a Rio system which I believe is the same technology & use it on my lip and chin. It just states not to use on eyebrows, for obvious reasons (burning your eyes out!)

I heard the rio was really really naff. Time consuming and no results?

Comes in different sizes - I have the largest one - still fairly time consuming I guess, but the smaller ones I'd imagine you'd be there forever doing 2 or 3 hairs at a time! It has worked well for me with (dark) lip and chin hairs, jury's still out on bikini and armpits, it hasn't got rid of the line down my tum.

  • Managed to get around £22 of points from using a double points voucher which was sent in the post and a 350 extra points on a spend. Useful for buying the bottles of activator gel.

Yes I have Thyroid problems, was over active was zapped with radiation so now under active. I take Thyroxine and I have only done 2 treatments with the Smooth Skin but no reaction to it whatsoever. My skin is fine even done it on my face (chin) just waiting for some results now but I am sooooo excited :j:j

Of course I can't say go ahead and do it, it has to be your choice.

Thanks for the input. I think since I managed with laser before, using this on my legs should be OK. I *think* I want to get this. I'm waiting for the bank holiday weekend extra points in a couple weeks, and I've got a double points voucher, and hopefully the ACM in the store will have some extra points vouchers on spends, too.
