Can anyone tell me what the size of the treatment area is? I have a Tria(laser) and it is a fairly small area.Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0

It's an inch long and half an inch wide. needs about 7 or 8 shots for each underarm I'd say. Doing my third treatment today, hoping to start noticing results in the next week or two! will keep this thread updated with the effects for me.0

Hi all,
I'm still undecided wether to take the plunge and buy it or not! I have one slight concern, the instructions say that after treatment the hair grows back lighter and less dense - is it likely they might grow back to light to continue treating?

I missed your second postSorry hun!!
You can't use the BSS on your face. It's one of the first things I looked up when I was swotting up on it. Got some strays I desperately want to zap, but can't.
Check out point #19 on the FAQs page. I tried to post a link on here but it won't let me. Just google the words:
Boots Smooth Skin face
and it's the 2nd link down.
Hope this is useful!
FelinePrincess, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by:
"...is it likely they might grow back to light to continue treating?"
Lemme know when you get a sec. I might just be a little bit ditzy today!

PS: Got my second BSS session on Thursday!! Looking forward to it in a sad kinda way :rolleyes:0 -
OK - did my first full session on bikini line this morning - no one replied to my question last week as to why it says not to use it during a period, so I thought I had better wait to be on the safe side.
It took me a while to get the hang of it. The most difficult thing seems to be working out a pattern so that you don't keep going over the same bits, or even overlapping. Difficult in the more hard-to-reach bits in particular.
I wouldn't say that it is totally pain-free (I had it on medium), but it is in such short bursts (micro-seconds) that it's quite tolerable. I probably could go down to the 'dark' setting to make it less painful, but I suspect that I would then need to do more treatments and I want to get this over and done with.
I didn't feel any after effects at all - no need for an ice pack as suggested in the instructions, and there doesn't seem to be any redness at all.
Having talked to the sales assistant, I am tempted to try it out on my chin - even though it says not to - I'm that sort of rebel! If I do, I will let you know what happens.
It's a shame that for the huge amount of money they didn't supply some sort of case for it. I don't particularly want it out on display (to advertise my hairiness!) and it is a real fiddle to get back in the box with the polystyrene, so I have ditched that and just put it in the box in the bottom of my wardrobe.0 -
I can't decide what to do. I am not at all hairy, none on my arms and I just pluck the odd few on my legs, but I hate shaving/waxing and creams and need to do my underarms and bikini line regularly as I swim a lot.
I just can't decide if it is worth it for the money.0 -

i think she means "...is it likely they might grow back too light to continue treating?" ie could you just be left with light hair instead of dark hair (which would be an improvement, but a bit disappointing!)
reading this thread with interest, will probably leave it for this year though - it's into fake tan & sunbed sason, so if everyone has good results I may treat myself next winter (hopefully it will com down in price too!) :rolleyes:Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
Jap200 - the reason you shouldnt use it when your on your period is because your body is more sensitive to pain during that time, thats the only reason, not anything else. Also I don't understand why it cant be used on the face if you wear eye protection. I first had IPL 9 years ago and I can't imagine this machine is any more powerful than the salon types.Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0
