Hi all,
I really want one of these! To begin with I wasn't sure if it would work but after reading what everyone says I think they sound great.
I have once concern before buying one myself, it says that you shoudn't apply fake tan to the area that you are treating, does anyone know what would happen if you did? I'm a fake tan addict and theres no way I could go without it!
Also, what happens to the hairs when you treat an area, do they fall out straight away?

No, it takes s few days for them to fall out (not that that stops me from scrubbing over the area with a rough towel to "encourage" them lol). Some of them do "frizz" and snap off but you can still see the stubble until it falls out. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

Thanks for answering! Would you say the treated area of skin is sore of senstitive at all?

It's because this type of thing only normally works well on pale skin. If you darken your skin it'll defeat the purpose.
I've had professional laser treatment (£250 a session!) and was told not to try and encourage the hairs to drop out, it makes the treatment less successful.

hi all, i've got one, yay! and i'm just about on my 4th session - not sure 'too good to be true' works with this one you know - it actually seems to be working...already, which is really impressive, and unexpected! apparently it should take 6 - 12 weeks to complete the treatment, so i'm pretty amazed i can see results already, and at £250 (promo price) it beats paying loads for salon treatments - and you can do it at home, which is the best bit as far as i'm concerned! Totally happy with mine so far, would def' recommend. Any other successes? or anyone further on in their treatments? i'll check back x0

Thanks for you help Sleepymy! In that case I'm hoping it will be ok for me to wear fake tan in between treatments aslong as I make sure it's all off in time for the treatment.
What do you do if a couple of days after the treatment the hairs haven't all fallen out but you want to wear a sleeveless top, is it ok to shave? Also how quickly does the hair grow back?
Thanks!

Hey it is ok to shave inbetween, I think you just carry on as normal but do the sessions once a week. And also shave before each session so the light gets to the hair follicle easier. I did a bit on my legs last night but can't really be bothered doing them, but I'm doing my second underarm and bikini line treatment tomorrow, and will probably just keep shaving/waxing my legs cos it takes a while.
Im not expecting to even notice the hairs falling out cos you're shaving before eacj session anyway so it will be short.
Not sore at all, occasionally a tingle because of the heat of the light, but it is not painful, just tingly.
I'm excited to do my second session tomorrow! can't wait to start noticing a difference.0 -
As I can't afford this I will have to wait for someone to sell it on Ebay.
Do you think it will be OK to buy a used one or is it a bit unhygienic bearing in mind that it has done people's bikini line?0 -
Awww just got all excited about this and then read it says do not use if you have PCOS
which I have. Does anyone know why you wouldn't be able to use it if you have PCOS
I too have PCOS but find it weird that you can't use this, As i have had salon I.P.L treatment and they said it works even better on people with PCOS and this can only be a milder version of the salon I.P.LOfficial DFW Nerd number 227

Hey Feline Princess!
Think the forum's got a little mixed up. Were you asking about the Boots Smooth Skin?
If so the treatment takes between 6-12 weeks. Hairs start to get thinner and lighter after a few weeks though. Removes all hair by the end.
You're not meant to use fake tan because the light is absorbed by darkish things.
If you have pale skin and dark hair, the light will be absorbed by the hair. If you have quite dark skin or fake tan then your skin will absorb the light which isn't good. :lipsrseal
Lolly5648 - Ebay's no good. The machine has a bulb which only has enough shots in it for one whole person (clever Boots!!).
I managed to buy one! At last, found one at Brent Cross!! (Thanks Minimoneyme!!! :T )
Did my test patch and everything's good to go at the weekend!
Can't waitWill keep you posted!
