Hi i couldnt use mine for about 5 weeks and all of the hair on my legs grew back normal, before this i had a great amount of hair loss. Is this something thats normal? thanks. Jem

I had this too. I had completed about 10 sessions with most of the hair gone on my bikini line. However I then missed 2 sessions and the hair is now almost back to the amount I had before I started the treatment. Am a little concerned that the results may not be as permanent as I had first thought.

    icon10.gifTreatment diary update
7th August Pits on medium setting. (Not a good test as I'd epilated them fairly recently)

1st session - 22nd August - Pits, Nips, right inner thigh - fair

1st session - 23rd August left inner thigh and backs of both thighs - fair

1st session - 24th August rear bikini, left lower leg - fair

1st session - 28th August face, mid bikini, front thighs - fair

29th August - Woohoo! I've just taken a good look at my lower legs & I can definately see the difference between the treated & the untreated leg. There is still a lot of hair remaining but it's definately working. Of course it's too early to say if it will last but for me this is fantastic after only one treatment.:j

1st session - August 30th right lower leg - fair

September 4th - Have left my underarms to their own devices lately. Checked today & I can see large bald patches, yee haaa, it's working.:j

    2nd session - September 13th - face - fair.

    2nd session - September 19th - Pits, Nips, Inner thighs - fair

    3rd session - September 20th - face - fair

2nd session - September 20th - back of thighs, rear bikini - fair

From woolly mammoth to woman here I come!:j

Jaine, Sorry for being dull - what's a "rear bikini"?

I have left my underarms and bikini for 4 weeks and still got bald patches and I only have to shave once a week. I am aiming to treat these areas 2 weekly now either to get rid of the rest or to just maintain this.

Hi there, sorry, it doesn't really make sense does it! I'd already started having a course of laser treatments before I'd heard of this machine. It's done at a hospital but they don't like to get too far in, in case they burn your bits off maybe  I'm aiming for a Brazilian but because the machine gets quite hot I only do a few blasts in the more intimate areas before moving on to safer regions. By rear bikini I mean a few shots around the rear portion! I'm not doing the front at all because I still have some laser treatments remaining & I've already paid for these. Incidently, the hair has grown back in areas where I've had treatment with a very powerful laser by the experts! I read on here somewhere that someone had more success with this IPL machine than they had with laser, so I'll see. I was doing a search across the net & came across a site where most people were saying that all this type of treatment is a SCAM! Most of them found that all of their hair grew back after 1 or 2 years. It seems to be a bit hit and miss, I think that it works well for some people but not for others & it all depends on hormone levels etc. So far I can see a reduction after the 1st treatment. I bought the machine after reading the results on this thread & other sites & also checking the Boots site. I'm still feeling positive. I will post my ongoing results. I'm looking at this as a long term (1 year plus) project & it will be worth it for me if it proves itself.
  • I bought one a little while ago having had some salon laser treatment. I'm really pleased with this having treated my underarms since before the summer. It took a few weeks but the hair started falling out and has hardly grown back and some of them are very fair! (I'm very dark). Do be aware though that this shouldn't be used on blond/grey/white hair as the hair needs pigment in order for the laser to work. No hair removal method is entirely permanent but laser is the best you could have (hence the expensive salon prices). Also it now seems that you can use the Boots machine on the face - don't know why they used to say you couldn't. Can anyone help with that one?

I was told by the assistant at Boots, that the only reason they did not recommend it for use on face initially was because Boots needed to complete their testing on this area. Seems now they have and it is able to be used on the face as well as other body areas :T.

Boots are stating that only the dark setting should be used on the face, I'm using it on the fair setting without any issues.

The price is reduced to 249.99 again, and they have special pack, free leather case.
  • Hi every one,

I bought mine a month ago, and have used it 3 times on my legs and bikini line. The thing is i noticed every one talk about hair falling out, but i have not had this!! it exactly the same. I have followed the instructions and been using it on fair.
I have been putting the gel on thick, could i be putting it on too thick and stopping the light from working? In the manual it says you will see hair less hair between 7 and 14 days and i am worried i am losing shots while iam not doing it correctly.
Did any one else find it took longer for the hair to fall out? or does any one have any advice?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Trying using some exfoliating gloves, something like these; http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Exfoliating-Gloves_40558/?CAWELAID=334495998&cm_mmc=Shopping%20Engines-_-Google%20Base-_---_-Boots%20Exfoliating%20Gloves and see if you notice the difference.
  • I have just ordered one after reading this thread and ebaying to raise the funds, cant wait for it to arrive!
Oh its £249.99 at the moment.
  • Hi
I just wanted to say that I have had great success with the Smooth Skin.I have used it 8 times on bikini -hardly any left now and the legs 9 times not totally gone but i could probably get away without shavig for a couple of weeks and what I had to shave would be much much less.
Im so impressed and wish it had come along 10 years ago.Luckily although in my 40s not grey yet hence the reason it worked well.I think I had the right skin for it,fair skin with dark hair.So I would highly recommend it for anyone like me.
A bit dull doing the legs but well worth the results.

I have never been so impressed with a product, worth the steep price. Its amazing how liberating it is not being hairy - now i just need to lose 2 stone!!
